There was poor construction found once we opened up the ceilingThere was settlement when walls that should not have been bearing where removed due to the fact the existing floor joist were compromised (Please see the attached documents)A professional engineer was hired to assess the floor joist
and come up with a plan of actionIn addition, a claim was filed by the upstairs tenet, and both his insurance company and ours determined the damage was due to the existing conditions and poor construction practices prior to Evermore Construction arriving on siteUnfortunately, it is all to common that deflection occurs in joist when they are damaged (In this case the damage was existing)We did everything within reason to accommodate and facilitate any repair work, along with working with our client (The downstairs tenet) to make to bring this building back to code and where it should have been from the beginning I've also attached copies of the completed inspection repair, and the repair plan given to us by the engineerIf any additional information is required please feel free to reach out to us

The concern should have been noted at least of time of removal of ceilingIt was obvious there was a structural concern but instead of rectifying it before proceeding, demolition proceeded without placing any support.Pictures are enclosed of the footer for the wall that was claimed to be nonload bearing as well as a pic showing no support placed anywhere throughout the space after demolition
