Full refund
Gadget Geeks put a counterfeit screen on my laptop, that damaged my laptop. When I went to return the fake screen they closed down without warning.
I cracked my laptop screen, and went to Gadget Geeks to have them replace it, they put on a counterfeit screen that did not work properly and casued my computer to overheat. after months of complaining they agreed to refund me if I returned the laptop screen. I went into the apple store to have them remove the gadget geeks counterfiet screen, and when I went to return the screen to Gadget Geeks the store was empty and apparently closed down. I WANT MY MONEY BACK. NOW!
I want them to take back the counterfeit screen they sold me, and refund me my money. and then STAY OUT OF BUSINESS.
Received excellent service at this location. Went to several different shops to repair my device and was unsuccesful. Highly recommend Gadget Geeks
Gadget Geeks broke 2 of my IPADS after dropping them off for a simple screen repair.
Around August 2018 I dropped off my son's IPAD pro 128gb for a simple screen repair. It took roughly a month to finally get the ipad as it was one issue after the other. Upon picking it up the IPAd, my son noticed that it would not stay turned on and when we got home it would not charge. I immediately called Gadget Geeks and was told to drop it back off, so I did the next day along with my Ipad 6th generation 128 gb. I was told that they would correct the problem and call me when its done. Not one time did the company contact me,any communication was done solely by me asking for uodates in regards to both ipads. Fast forward to today, I called them to get an update on both IPAd's and was told both could not be fixed. That both IPAD's are broken behind repair after having what was supposed to be a simple screen repair. Had I not called to get an update I would have never found out that they broke my ipads and will not take responsibility for what they did. Both Ipads were bought at Christmas time, December 2018, the 6th generation was a gift from my husband who had it inscribed and were completely brand new and devoid of any problems until I dropped them off to Gadget Geeks in Coral Springs.
I would like my IPADs replaced with the same exact models (Latest model Ipad pro and 6th generation with the exact same gbs (128) I will not accept anything less as they were both brand new IPADS bought at Christmas time.
Did not complete repair and actually broke my phone.
AVOID this place at all costs. Paid the deposit for them to order a new screen for my phone. They said 3-4 days they would call me. After 5 days I called them to find out they received the wrong screen. It would be 2-3 days for correct one. Not extremely upset because my phone was working - the screen was just cracked. July 3rd they called and said they had the correct screen. I dropped it off on July 5th and was supposed to be able to get it back that evening. They called me at 4:30 and said that they had the wrong screen again. Again - not too upset because the phone worked. No it doesn't. They took the cracked screen off before they checked the new one. Again - the wrong screen and now my phone is broke. Their offer of 10% off a $79 fix was insulting. When I asked for my phone back because I now have no confidence in their ability to repair correctly they would not give it back unless I paid balance. When I wrote out details of our interactions per my credit card company and asked them to sign, they refused. They would also not accept credit card payment to release my phone to me. I had to pay cash to get it back. Hopefully my horrible experience will save someone else the headache.
As I had no confidence in their ability to repair my phone, I purchased a new one which I ma now using. I no longer have a need for my phone that they broke to be repaired. I would like a refund.
Business damaged and lost property given to repair.
My tablet with a microSD card installed was given to Gadget Geeks to replace the battery. At that time I was informed that it would take no more than 3 days to receive the battery and repair. A week later I called and it still was not repaired. After continuously asking about the status I went into the store and asked to speak to the manager. At that time the manager would refuse to speak with me and would only speak through the front attendant. I would then request my tablet back, which at that time the manager would refuse. After requesting it multiple times he would finally return it. After I received it I noticed that my microSD card was missing, which they stated they did not have. I still have not received the microSD card since they say they never found it. I was given an email address to the corporate office, but to this day I have not received a reply. I then took my tablet to another place to get it fixed where they opened it and stated it was damaged and could not be fixed. Apparently Gadget Geeks damaged the battery connections when removing the battery and tried to re-solder it back but did a terrible job of it. To the point that even after installing the new battery it did not work. I went back to Gadget Geeks with my son and the manager once again refused to talk to us. We demanded that he come out and talk to us because of the damage to the tablet. He did, but only to tell us if we didn't get out of his store that he was going to call the police. At that point we told him we would call the police for him, which we did. We also requested a contact number to corporate since they didn't respond to the email. The front attendant was willing to provide it but the manager specifically told her not to provide it to us. Eventually the police would arrive and after taking both of our stories it took for him to ask for the number to *** at corporate in order for us to receive it. The police man would also recommend to us that we go to small claims court in order to receive compensation. My son would call *** 3 times with no answer. As of today we have not received a call from anyone associated with this company or any compensation for the missing or damaged property.
I would like a replacement of my damaged tablet and missing microSD card.
Computer was dropped off with 2 RAM sticks and returned with 1 my property was missing.
1) I brought my personal MAC laptop computer to Gadget Geeks the business because it was running slowly. I was advised by a male tech on the phone as to a range of things I should do to speed up my computer but that they would be "very expensive". I was told to replace the battery for sure, and I authorized them to order a new battery and to install it. After I picked up the computer, it was running slower that when I dropped it off it should have run faster. The speed declined over the next few weeks. I called Apple for tech support date of complaint and when I went to answer information about the RAM installed, I saw one of the two 8GB RAM sticks that should be in the computer is "empty". Both sticks verified when I dropped it off the RAM was noted for the diagnostic process and conversation were not both there. I was advised by Apple these are needed and must be a matching pair for the computer to run smoothly. This means that the stick was accidentally or purposely removed by a tech at Gadget Geeks at the time they serviced the computer.
Also, I do not have confidence the battery I purchased as new and paid to have installed is in my machine.
2) At least one woman and a man work the front desk. The man was brusque on the phone in the initial consult and at pickup, while the woman was kind and even-tempered. When I picked up my computer initially, the man was there helping another customer. He made a sexist joke to the male customer about women and looked at me. I was very uncomfortable. And, when the male customer left the man at the service desk was very cold and brusque with me: his tone changed. I was very uncomfortable. I had previously done business at this store but decided not to again these were new employees from my prior time at the store when I'd posted a positive Yelp review.
3) Today I called the business after getting off the phone with my Apple phone rep and spoke with the woman, later identified as Nina. I told her my problem and she shared she would call me right back after the customer left. 30 minutes later she did not. I called the store again and the brusque man answered, later identified by Nina as Ryan. I asked to speak with the woman and the request was denied. He pushed and pushed as to why I was calling and I said I only wanted to speak with her. He refused and claimed she was on a lunch and he would not let me know what time she returns so I could call back. I then asked for the name and contact information of the owner and he refused to give it to me, but continued to badger me about why I was calling; I wouldn't tell him the reason for my call. I asked for a corporate number or contact and was told there isn't one. I finally told him there was an issue with my computer from when it was fixed and that I didn't want to talk to him about it because of a comment he'd made I found offensive when speaking to the other customer in front of me. I did not tell him it was also my understanding that this mistake was his I believe he is the tech and stated again I either wanted to speak to the store owner. He started to shout at me, so I hung up on him. He then called me back and started telling him off. I hung up on him. After a few moments I called back and asked again for the contact information for the owner of the store and that this was my last request before contacting the Revdex.com, and he started yelling at me and telling me off again. I hung up on him . These belligerent calls occurred between 2:33 PM and 2:37 PM on 5/3/18. The woman called me back after her lunch about 10 minutes later, identified herself as Nina, and him as Ryan. She told me the owner's name was ***. Ryan started shouting at her and hung up on me.
4) Another issue is that when I initially called the business and asked if they were an authorized Apple computer repair location, I was told "YES" by Ryan. After speaking with Apple today, I have learned that the business is not listed among their authorized stores.
As it was explained to me by Apple, I must have a matching pair of RAM sticks in my computer for it function properly. And, I was told by Gadget Geeks that the battery I purchased from them and that they installed was guaranteed. Since I took my computer to Gadget Geeks, there is only one RAM stick one of my original sticks is missing, and the computer is running slower than when I brought it in.I don't actually believe the battery was replaced or new. I have no confidence in the labor nor business practice of this store, and as there is no other location or corporate number to contact to resolve this quickly I was given nor available online, I thus have to take my MacBook Pro elsewhere. I will be taking it to the Apple store at the Boca Raton mall for the following services, and expect to be reimbursed by the owner of Gadget Geeks for the parts and labor: 1) new battery - purchase and installation 2) new pair of 8GB sticks - purchase and installation
