Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Sincerely,
[redacted] The response from [redacted] was untrue. I have multiple text messages from the person that sold me the vacuum. I made myself available every night for the entire 25 days the machine was in my possession. The sales rep did not show each time he said he would come to pick p the machine he either cancelled or did not show. After several weeks another rep did come unannounced and did not offer to match the price I found online. She offered a price of $1095 financed for 3 years at 18%. I found online the [redacted] the identical item for $430. She offer to come back when my wife was home to demonstrate other uses of the vacuum. I told the sales rep, [redacted], to take the machine and when she comes back on Monday she could show us the demonstration. She refused to take the machine and said to keep it until Monday when she was going to demonstrate the vacuum. On Monday [redacted] did not show for the demonstration. I have a voicemail the next day, Tuesday stating she apologizes for nobody showing up. She then unannounced stopped at my house that Tuesday we agreed to try one more time to meet on Thursday for the demonstration. I had an emergency and was 10 minutes late, nobody showed up at my house or had left less then 10 minutes after we scheduled to meet. I am not looking to get anything free but in the contract it does state if they did not pick up the item within 20 days then the is now free and clear of any cost. I made myself available everyday for not only the 20 days but for 25 days and the reps did not come get the machine. When I mentioned to the company it was past the 20 days, then they decided to notify the local police to retrieve the machine at which I did return all the items. The sales rep [redacted] was the one to pick up the machine and was very rude and unprofessional. I'm just looking to prove a point that if the contract that [redacted] company wrote and signed but they still broke the contract.
Great vacuum. No pressure to buy good deal.
Review: This company keeps calling me and harassing me and if I don't answer it just calls and hangs up. When you call them back they don't even identify the company name. I told them repeatedly to stop harassing me, I don't even live in CT anymore, I shouldn't have to pay for minutes on my phone for their SPAM. They need to stop trying to sell me their vacuum cleaners. This has been going on for 2 YEARS now.Desired Settlement: Make them stop calling me. I want to go on a do not call list. I have asked repeatedly. If they don't stop I will file a complaint with the FCC and have them taken down.

Response:
We apologize for contacting Ms. [redacted]. She was referred by one of her friends, and we were not aware that she does not live in CT as the number is an 860 area code. We have pulled that referral list from our phone room and have put Ms. [redacted] on our office do not call list. Again, we do apologize for contacting her.
Review: I cancelled the purchase of a [redacted] on June 6, 2015. I had notified and the sales person of the cancellation and asked him to pick up the product. Each night for 3 weeks the salesperson did not show to pick up the product. A new salesperson stopped at my house uninvited and tried to resell me the product, I insisted the product was not worth the cost and for her to take the product with her. She refused to accept that I did not want the product and scheduled a night to come and speak with my wife and myself to try and lower the cost. The sales woman did not show to this appointment, the next day she stopped at my home uninvited again and insisted on a new appointment. The day of the new appointment, I was approximately 10 minutes late and the salesperson had already left. It had been 21 days at this time that the product (vacuum) was at my residence and the sale people did not come to retrieve it. According to the [redacted] cancellation policy after 20 days on the representative not picking up the product, the product is now becomes the property of where it was left. On Monday, day 24, I spoke with a representative whom wanted to make another effort to retrieve the product, I stated to her that I have been trying to get someone to pick up this product for 24 days and no one has came. On day 25, the local police called my phone stating the [redacted] company wants to press grand larceny charges if I didn't return the vacuum. I stated to the detective that I did try to return the product multiple times. The detective called the company and stated that had to pick up the product within 3 hours and deem me not responsible for any cost. The representative fin[redacted] came and picked up the vacuum. My complaint is according to the cancellation policy they had 20 days to send a representative to pick up the [redacted] and failed to do so. The [redacted] company of [redacted] did not follow the cancellation policy they set forth.Desired Settlement: I feel that I am entitle to the [redacted] avalir system being that I followed all appropriate contract and cancelled within the correct time frame. The representatives didn't make the effort of retrieving the product within the 20 days time frame written out in the contract. Not until I mentioned to the company that it had been 24 days, 4 days past contract that I should now be in procession of the [redacted] had they notified police and retrieved the vacuum.

Response:
[redacted] purchased the [redacted] on June 5th and let us know within the 3
business days that she wanted to cancel.
The sales rep who sold it to her knew her person[redacted], and did try to set
up multiple appointments to meet with her and pick up the [redacted]. There were several times that the time they
had set up did not work for her. At one
point, because the rep had driven out several times and was no longer working
with our company, he asked if we could have someone else go and pick the
machine up. One of our senior reps went
to see Ms. [redacted] and spoke with her about why she wanted to cancel her
purchase. Ms. [redacted] said they had found
it cheaper online. Our rep offered to
match the price and Ms. [redacted] stated that she would like to discuss things
with her wife, and asked us to leave the machine so she could do so. We did this.
The next few times we set up appointments, Ms. [redacted] was not able to
make them. The time it took for us to
pick up the machine from Ms. [redacted], was not due to lack of trying on our part,
but due to schedule conflicts. She wanted
to cancel the sale. We cancelled. She returned the merchandise. She doesn’t owe anything. It seems like Ms. [redacted] wants to get the
product for free now, after insisting on cancelling the purchase, which we did.

Review: On may 4 2015 I purchased a [redacted] vacuum after hours of explaining I was uncomfortable with the process but was reassured of all my concerns. As of early June I am being pulled out of work due to my pregnancy and can not afford the payments. I was trying to be responsible and called gp to tell them my situation and return the item when I was told that I could not return it due to it being over the three days. No where in this contract does it say adter three days it can not be returned for any reason. My payment is not considered late and I am already reciving phone calls about late payment. When I spoke to the loan center and explained my situation they were very rude asking why I would want to ruin my credit. I am trying to be responsible and return it so this doesn't affect my credit and no one will help. The vacuum has not been used . This is adding unneeded stress to me and my child.Desired Settlement: I want the item returned and proof it has been removed from my credit. Thats all I ask as I haven't made a payment and don't want money or anything else in return.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2013/07/12) */
First we would like to apologize for contacting Ms. [redacted]. When we meet with customers, they often give us a handwritten list of their friends and/or family as referrals. When those names are brought back to our office, BEFORE they are given to the call center to make calls, they are scrubbed against the national do not call registry. If the number is registered, we take it off the list and do not call it. Unfortunately, there is obviously human error from time to time. For this we apologize. The person who scrubs the names has been addressed, as well as the importance of this process being done accurately. In addition to this, we have also added Ms. [redacted]'s name to our own do not call list.
Review: Two years ago I reported a problem with [redacted]. As of March 2012 it is illegal in CT to call and harass and threaten jail time for a debt that is not paid. Starting in April 2012 we were called incessantly by [redacted] and their financing department. In July of 2012 we were threatened with an arrest warrant by 'a lawyer hired by the owner of [redacted] of Norwich' if we did not pay the money owed before 5 oclock that afternoon. He told us we would be hit with larceny and jail time if we did not pay for the [redacted] vacuum that we had tried to return several times. We were given the run around in trying to return it. The owner, through this 'lawyer', told us if we paid $250 in 3 installments and returned the vacuum before 5oclock our debt would be settled. My husband complied and returned the vacuum and paid the money. We have the checks to prove it. Now we are trying to buy a car and our debt from 2 years ago is still listed as unpaid. When we called and stopped at the place, the 'office manager' was gone and would not be back until Monday. We tried to call the [redacted] Financial group and their contact us options didn't work on their website, and the phone number rang, then went busy, then hung up on us twice.Desired Settlement: Letter stating the debt was paid in full so we can show the car dealership, and debt removed or listed as PAID IN FULL in 2012 on our credit report.

Response:
[redacted] did come to the office and asked for the letter they mentioned in their complaint. When they stopped by, the manager who handles that department was out for the weekend. The following Monday when this manager was back in the office, [redacted] were provided a letter written by her on our company letterhead stating that they had paid a settlement directly to our company and were considered to have a zero balance. The company has also informed [redacted] that they paid a settlement directly to us. In regards to the credit report being updated, that is something [redacted] will do. [redacted] complaint has already been resolved.

Response:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. However, I would like to state for the record we were given a very difficult time by GP Industries, treated rudely by the manager, was told we would have to wait for the letter as she was too busy, and and she also said "telling [redacted] that we had paid the balance was not her job." [redacted] Financial Services told us that it WAS her job to report that we had paid the settlement and should have done so at the time, not two years later, and that they could only accept a validation of debt paid from her, not from us. Again we were told we would have to wait for her to call [redacted], because she was very busy. Instead [redacted] asked for her name and number and had to make the call themselves to ascertain that the letter was indeed valid and the debt had been settled. The employees at [redacted] then made sure to fix the status on the credit reports. [redacted] was very understanding and expedited the process for us.
Sincerely,
