Needed something special
Due to a bad riding accident and being 60 I needed a special horse. Glenda spent time getting to know my story and my needs. Being 800 miles away we did everything by video and phone. When I thought I like one she'd see something and say nope, not for you. Then she found me Chip. Chip and I have been together 4 years now and have bonded like no other horse I have ever ridden or owned. I trust him and he trust me and together we ride strange trails and environments and are always safe, I love mt Ky Mt boy and thank the good Lord for Glenda everytime I climb in the saddle.

Worst experience in my horse life. I now believe the horse we rode at G & G flat shod farm was given something to mask the hoof and leg pain. Sure they have a nice story about each horse, don’t believe it. They likely know nothing of the horses background. The vet check at G&G Flat Shod farms was a farce. The horse has Navicular. Now I’m left with trying to sell a horse that can’t be ridden or at least find a good home. I do not recommend buying anything from this business; they can not be trusted. Not only a huge cost to purchase a non registered horse, but upkeep costs and a large vet bill to get to the bottom of this horses health problems. I will never buy a horse out of state again.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 10656729, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
Since he ARRIVED lame, I don't buy the shoeing excuseBoth my
farrier and vet said it was chronic thrush caused by prolonged exposure
to wet conditions. Further, I told my farrier not to change any angles
but just to trim and put new shoes on, as I didn't' want to change
anything until I knew the horse better. I kept and treated the horse for nearly a
month hoping it would clear up and it never did. So, fearing chronic and ongoing
issues I talked to you about returning himYou NEVER said you would
charge for return shipping and you picked the shipper and arranged the
detailsThe keg shoes had raised 'bumps' on them - one of my boarders
from New York said they were ice shoes, I am from Florida so just
assumed that's what they were calledThey were very slippery for him to
stand on and he almost fell when he walked on the concrete barn aisleI
imagine they were very slippery for him in the long trailer ride here
as well I certainly did not buy a horse just to
ship him backI also have never had to pay shipping when returning
something that was not 'as advertised'!! She guaranteed a sound horse
and that is not what I gotNot sure what her vet was looking at, but
he did not get chronic thrush overnightMost reputable companies will
stand behind their product, and it's a shame that *** will not! ***

Last year my husband was looking for a gaited trail horse. We went to G and G Flatshod Farm . He was a very inexperienced rider and we were advised that certain horses were the most suitable. We both instantly took to a spotted saddle horse named “Quarter”. He has turned out to be a wonderful horse and my husband couldn’t be more pleased. He is great on the trails, has impeccable manners, very healthy, and a super parade horse. No vices and we love him to death.

I am very sorry you are dissatisfied with our business.
We strive to do the best job we can always.
First of all, the shoes he had on were keg shoes, I
am not even sure what ice shoes are but the ones he had on here were heeled...

keg
shoes.
He was cleared by the vet before he left so he was
sound to take the trip.
Unfortunately, he arrived unsound. You let me know
immediately and thought maybe he would be all right in a few days. However, he
was not and I told you I would do whatever you wanted me to, exchange or refund
the money for the horse. After a few days you decided to send him back. I did
not question this and told you I would refund your money for him. This is not a
policy I normally do but wanted you to be satisfied.
After I got him home I immediately made an
appointment with a equine specialist who is also a equine surgeon just to see
what the heck was going on. It didn't take him 30 minutes to see that the way
he was shod (short inside, long on the outside) put extra pressure on the
entire inside of his foot. He specifically told us how to shoe him, to give him
a few weeks and he would be fine. Just to be totally sure though we did X-rays
of his feet including a X-ray of his coffin bone which only showed inflammation
from the pressure of the incorrect angles of his feet. For example, if you buy
a pair of shoes that do not fit it is going to make your feet sore. If you
continue to wear them your foot will continue to be sore sometimes all the way
up to your ankles.
As far as shipping, whenever you decide to buy
something from a company and it doesn't work out, you can send it back but
rarely do you not have to pay shipping.
I am also sorry that I did not respond to your
email. Anyone who knows me knows I answer all emails if I get them.
In closing I realize that you were out $500.00 in
shipping each way and a vet bill. I too had a large vet bill but was worth
every penny because I now have a very sound horse and [redacted] has a trail horse
and one she can win at the local shows.

Let the buyer beware! I would never purchase another horse from this farm! I believe that I was deceived and have a horse that is a far cry from what I thought I purchased. I watched this site for 10 yrs and thought it was a reputable business.

My husband bought a horse from Flatshod farms last spring. He tried the horse out before purchase and it seemed like a good fit. When we brought the horse home (Knights Lance, renamed Percy), he needed just a bit of work bridging, but he was willing to learn and now lowers his head for the bridle. Last week, I took Percy to flag trails for an upcoming ride. I had flagging tape all over bin, cutting and dragging tree branches and rode him under an overpass with noisy traffic going overhead. He was solid. My husband adores this horse, and Percy is very affectionate. I am now also using him to give my grandchildren riding lessons. He was everything she said he was and we can't be more pleased.

Review: I purchased a horse Big Town Dreamin from G & G Flatshod Farms for 3,900 dollars. When I got the horse back to Ohio from Kentucky the horse was dangerous and reared in the street with me and not what she described in her horse ad. I drove 10hrs back to Kentucky to exchange him for another horse which the cost was 3,500 dollars and she said to pay her 500.00 more and when Dreamin sold she would return my money. He just sold last week and she refuses to return my money saying she doesn't owe me anything when really she took 900.00 of my money. I have all the emails from her stating when he sold she will return the money. The horse Bojangles she sent me home with has bad feet and I cannot even ride him. While I was there on the property she sold 5 horses at 5,000 dollars a piece. She needs to be exposed because what she is doing is very dishonest, taking advantage of people, selling dangerous horses, and I don't even think she has a business license to operate a horse sale barn which all the income pays no taxes. What she describes in her ad is different from the horses she sells. I heard one conversation of a lady screaming about a sick horse and [redacted] told her to call a vet and hung the phone up. Another friend on Face Book had it out with her I was explaining what she did in not giving back my money and she sold < Deleted> a horse that cribs and sucks air and would not take the horse back. So I know now I am not the only one she has done this too. I appreciate and help that you can offer me to get my money returned. Thankyou for your time, [redacted]Desired Settlement: I want her to Honor what she said I have it in writing and she refuses to send me the 500.00 back! It's a 10hr drive back there and so I am unable to go in person. She is running a business scamming people out of thousands of dollars and she needs to be shut down. She needs to be exposed as a fraud and not trustworthy in sticking to her word.

My name is [redacted] and I sold a horse to [redacted]

She got along very well with this horse here, but had several problems with him after she got him home. She e-mailed and sent me some very unhappy e-mails demanding I do something with her horse. I told her that I would trade with her because her guarantee had already expired (I didn’t hear anything from her for a month, and we only give a guarantee for 2 weeks) I told her a couple of times I would trade with her but she did not care for any of the horses I had at that time. She tried to show him to a prospective buyer and he backed up on the crosstie and cut his nose. It had to be sewn up and I suppose that was when she decided he had to go. She called me and told me she wanted to trade. After we talked we agreed that I had a sorrel and white tobiano that would work nicely for her. She came, rode him and agreed to trading her horse for Bo (the sorrel and white horse) I told her at that time I could trade for $500.00. I also told her that if I could get $4000.00 for her horse (the difference in the price) I would give her back the $500.00 that she gave me.

After evaluating him the first week, I seen some major changes in the horse that were not there when I sold him. I had a local man that was willing to give me $3200.00 for him and they got along pretty well. After weighing out my options of keeping him a while to help him back to form or selling him I decided this was the best option for me. My cost of keeping any horse here is $10.00 a day so that adds up quickly and still not knowing that he would be any better 3 months from now.

I spoke to [redacted] and she was VERY unhappy saying I told her that I would send her the $500.00 after I sold him. I tried to explain to her that I only said that I would do that if I could get $4000.00 out of him. I had a couple of witnesses standing right beside us at the time.

I would love to help her out, but I lost money on the deal too. Right after I let her take the sorrel and white horse a lady offered to buy him for the original price of $4000.00. Unfortunately I had already sold him to [redacted] thinking that she finally had a horse that would take really good care of her. Now she is selling him too, so I don’t know how much better of a horse she could want, but maybe she has decided horses aren’t for her. Either way, I am sorry again for the way she feels but I did not get $4000.00 for him therefore could not give her the $500.00 back. I would be happy to help in any other way I can.

Hello, thankyou so much for sending me the message to continue to solve the

Review: My husband [redacted] and I purchased a horse from [redacted] of G & G Flatshod Farms on 01/31/2015. The horse was advertised as a registered Spotted Saddle horse. We paid Ms [redacted] $3,700 cash and had Ms [redacted] sign a bill of sale. Ms [redacted] stated she would have the horses registration papers the next week and would mail them to us. I have copies of numerous e mails to Ms [redacted] concerning the registration papers on the mare purchased and have heard nothing but excuses. My husband contacted the National Spotted Saddle Horse Association and found the horse we purchased is a registered mare and the Association was waiting for Ms [redacted] to pay her yearly dues before release of 5 sets of registration papers. On 03/28/2015 Ms [redacted] e mailed that she has our horse's papers and would be mailing them to us. It has been 67 days since our purchase and still no registration papers on the horse.Desired Settlement: Would like Ms [redacted] to mail our purchased horse's registration papers with all necessary signatures to transfer horse in our name.
