Horrible service and experience. We signed the contract to do my driveway in July with them saying it will be done in 2 weeks to a month. After a month of no activity on the job, we try calling them for updates. Every time we call, he makes excuses about equipment breakdowns, how he is not feeling well, and how he won't be able to give us a definite time on when he will be able to start the job. Now in late September, when we call him for an update, he flat out refuse to do my driveway and says that my contract with him is considered voided. Now after two months of dragging this out, our driveway is still not done and we are left with having to scramble to find another paver.
We signed a contract to do my driveway in July 2018. In September, we call *** and he said he won't be able to do the job and the contract is void
I was looking for a paver to expand the driveway at my son's house. I called *** and he agreed to meet us at the house to take a look and give us a quote. On July 31, 2018, *** and his wife *** came by the house and gave us a quote of $1500 to do a 27' by 16' expansion of the driveway, with 6 inch thick gravel and 3 inch thick asphalt. When we asked them when they would be able to start work, they said it would usually take 2 weeks but no later than a month.
After two to three weeks go by with no activity on the job, we called *** for an update on their schedule. *** said they were having equipment issues, have other jobs they are trying to catch up on, and that they wouldn't be able to give us an exact time on when they would be able to start the job. As it was still early within the progress, we understood their difficulties and told them we will call them later for an update. From then on, we called them once a week to see if there was any progress on our job and if they would be able to fit us in the following week. Every time we call, *** would complain how his equipment is broken down and how he couldn't give us a definite time on when he can start the job.
When we try asking about how many jobs he had queued up and what place in line we were, he would complain about how he wasn't feeling well and won't answer. All we really wanted to know was that he was making progress on his jobs, and that he would get to ours in the near future. Finally in early September, after weeks of getting the same excuses from ***, we asked him realistically when he would be able to get to our driveway, He said he would have a better idea in mid to late September. So on September 22nd 2018, we called *** to see if he has an update for us. He replied that he wouldn't do our job because his dump truck is on its last legs and that the contract we signed in July is now considered void.
I would like G Cooper Paving to either finish the job at the agreed upon price by the end of 2018, Or if I have to hire an outside Contractor to finish the job, G Cooper paving will pay the difference between our agreed upon price of $1500 and the price charged by the outside contractor.
In my response to this customer, Mr *** was told several times about why I couldn't do his job one hing after another was happening he called repeatedly several times a day I was as nice as I could be to him telling him I'm very sorry for the inconvenience, I recommended he get someone else because I couldn't perform his job in the time period he wanted. I never took any money off this job, he then called me over and over again saying I promised to do his job again I told him I can't do it at that moment in time . I said this because I felt bad I couldn't help him so this way by calling another contractor his job would be done in the time frame he wanted , I understand he doesn't speak a lot of English so I tried to say it so he would understand. The last day he called me over 12 times in a row, he was told if you could wait I'll get to it eventually but I don't like to have customers wait. He didn't understand this the day he called me over and over he was yelling at me to do his job. Again no money was takin so I don't understand why he is upset. I did what any contractor would do told him to try and get someone else to do it because I couldn't get to him as fast as he wanted. Things happen I can't control in any business.
Any further questions please feel free to contact me.

Since we have a contract in place for a job to be done, it is unacceptable that the business just unilaterally breaks off the contract. My chief complaint is that on September 22, 2018, he flat out refused to do the job and hung up on us.
I understand that there could be issues with weather and equipment and that can result in delays, and we are very understanding of delays within reason. That's why, after a delay of month after the job was supposed to be started, we were still calling to get an update on the job and trying to see if he had a better idea of when he could get to my driveway. As long as he was able to get it done before this winter (a full 4 months from the signing of the contract), we would have been happy. We were calling to see if he had made any progress clearing out his other jobs and just wanted to know what place in line we were on his schedule. However, he kept giving us the runaround and complaining about equipment breakdowns. If he had shown any progress during the month's delay, I wouldn't have a problem with a delay in the job. At the end of august, Mr. said that he may be able to get to my job in mid to late September. As such, we waited until September 22 to call and see he had a better idea of his schedule. However, on the 22nd, he flat out refused to do the job, said the contract is now considered voided and hung up. When we try calling him back, he wouldn't answer. After calling him numerous times with no response, with no other recourse and no way to reach Mr., I posted the complaint on Revdex.com.
If Mr. had been more transparent with us and let us know his best guess on when he can get to the job, we wouldn't have had a problem. We had already told him we weren't in any rush to get the job done and as long as it was done before winter, it would have been fine. That's why, for our desired resolution on file with the Revdex.com, we stated we want them to finish the job before the end of 2018 at the agreed upon price.
