Now, get this. When I initially contacted Furniture Pick about the furniture being different from the photos, they informed me of a policy they have (posted on their site somewhere), that allows them to sell furniture that doesn't look like the photos. Have you ever heard of anything like this in your life? When I was going through their claim department for help, they requested photos from at least 10 feet back. You know why? Furniture Pick's policy is if the furniture you receive looks enough like the photos they use from 10 feet back, it somehow makes their shady, deceptive business practices all good. In my case, it doesn't apply, because my furniture still looks absolutely horrid from 10 feet back. I am posting some of the deceptive stock photos Furniture Pick uses, along with stock photos used by OTHER RETAILERS who are honest and have updated pictures of the Sawmill version I am stuck with (I never saw these photos or knew there was a "new" Sawmill Alabaster 2-Tone finish until after the nightmare of receiving the furniture, when I scoured the internet for information). One retailer does use some photos of the old model, but they include a disclaimer that the bedroom set will not match the photo on every single one on those photos. Had Furniture Pick used this retailer's honest stock photos - never in a million years would I have been interested in the pieces I purchased. But I know now when it comes to Furniture Pick's misrepresented merchandise, that is the whole point. Even in Furniture Pick's stock photos from a distance, the smooth wood grain white and gray finish is distinguishable (and there's this thing called ZOOM buyers use to shop - maybe they should remove that feature from their adverts). No way does my set, loaded down with scratches, pockmarks and gouges, look anything like what they picture. Even in the far away nightstand photo I am posting, you can plainly see that it is all mocked up. The bed and mirror don't have the scratches and gouges, but they are spray-painted white and the finish is still rough and splintery. Furniture Pick must expect their customers to blindfold themselves (and in my case, wear gloves to prevent splinters) anytime we are within 10 feet of their junk furniture.
TO THIS DAY, Furniture Pick is using the same misrepresentative stock photos to sell the same merchandise they sold to me - despite the fact they have been aware of just how misrepresentative those photos are since February due to my awful experience and devastation. I was told by their claims department (that rep has been very polite to me - I know it is corporate there driving the corruption) that the version of the furniture set in their online advert (that I thought I was buying) had been discontinued by Vaughn-Bassett, and there was not a single piece of the discontinued set (replaced by the crappy version I received) in existence available for purchase ANYWHERE. Yet they continue to use the same set of fraudulent advert photos. To this very day.
Additionally, Furniture Pick does not have any sort of established guidelines within their two party relationship with the delivery company they contract with, where it concerns the day of customer delivery. You know why? Because once that delivery company drives off into the sunset (after telling you it is not their responsibility to wait around for an hour while you de-pallet and unwrap everything to check for concealed damage - the furniture is YOURS. Furniture Pick sends you an email saying that the delivery person has to to wait even if they have a bad attitude (when I read that in the instructions, I thought it was just a frivolous statement - boy was I wrong). Apparently, Furniture Pick has nothing in writing nor have they communicated it verbally to the delivery company that the driver is expected to wait. Instead, Furniture Pick expects their customers to play the role that they, as the retailer, should own. I called the delivery company about this disconnection weeks later, and a manager kindly reaffirmed it is not in their contract with Furniture Pick to wait for customers to open the merchandise and check it over - they are only obligated to stay until the boxes everything is delivered in are checked for damage.
Why would anyone shop at a place where what you think you are buying is as drastically different as what I received? They have a POLICY STATING THEY CAN DO THIS TO YOU SOMEWHERE IN THE FINE PRINT. I will never buy furniture online again, thanks to my hellish experience with Furniture Pick. The only thing they are good at is deception. Do not trust this business, it is the most expensive mistake I have ever made ($4600). I was so confident in my transaction that I sold my old bedroom set off once I placed my order - my new bedroom set is garbage compared to what I previously had. If I had rejected it I would have been sleeping on the floor with my belongings all over the place (which in hindsight would have been a much better alternative than keeping it). I wish I read the Furniture Pick reviews I came across AFTER my experience BEFORE I purchased through Furniture Pick (there are many and they are absolutely overwhelmingly negative). Moving forward I plan to do everything I can to communicate my experience with Furniture Pick to other buyers, so they do not have to live with the same regret I am. Furniture Pick is a complete scam.
