Furniture EMT Reviews (%countItem)

Furniture repair work done by Furniture EMT failed at first use and they have been unwilling to fix the issue for three months now.
I hired Furniture-EMT to repair my wood desk, reattach a broken leg fastener. They agreed to do the repair and completed the work in July 2017. I paid them $135 for this work. The repair immediately failed. I have been trying to get Furniture-EMT to complete the repair correctly, and have spoken with the company representative both via email and phone. Each time the representative, *** Varvaro, has promised to schedule the repair, but then never follows through. Mr *** no longer responds to my emails or takes my calls.

Desired Outcome

I would like my $135 back for services I paid for but did not receive. At this point I have lost all confidence in Furniture-EMT's ability to perform this sort of service.

This company has refused to provide me with a paper receipt, and now refuses to come and fix my chair properly. They also stole a part for my chair.
On 7/3/17 this company first came to my home to fix the handle on a reclining chair. I had previously ordered the part from the furniture manufacturer (Lane Furniture) and was sent the wrong part. Furniture EMT charged me $75 for this service call, and asked that I contact Lane Furniture to receive the correct part. Furniture EMT returned to my home on 8/4/17 once I had the correct part in my possession. Lane furniture sent me two handles to ensure that I had the correct part for the repair. Tony installed one of the handles on my furniture, and took the extra handle. When I asked why he was taking the extra handle he stated "I didn't need it". Tony then told me to write a check to Ernest ***, who he stated was the owner of the company, in the amount of $250. My first payment of $75 was made out to Furniture EMT. Tony stated that the owner wanted the second payment in his name. After I wrote my check, I requested a copy of my receipt. I was told by Tony that he does not give paper receipts, but that I can take a picture with my phone, which I did. Tony left my home, and I looked at the receipt which said that I had paid $225, but he asked that I write my check for $250. Also on the receipt I noted that the original price was supposed to be $150. At this point I called to questions the two amounts on the receipt, and the amount I was told to make my check out for. The service Manager John answered my call and said that Tony had not returned to the office, but that he would check my records, and if I had been overcharged he would send my money back. I never heard anything back. The next day 7/5/17 the chair broke again. I began calling to schedule another service call and my calls and messages were not answered. I also sent e-mails, and texts (which they requested) which were ignored. My daughter also called and spoke with John who stated that he would have a Manager call me back, which never happened. On Monday, 9/25/17, my daughter once again called and a man who announced himself as Tony answered the phone. My daughter said "good morning, may I speak with a manager", Tony then slammed the phone down and hung up. She called back several times and her calls were ignored. I am a retiree on a fixed income, Furniture EMT has stolen a part from me, overcharged me, and my furniture is still not working.

Desired Outcome

I would like for the company to return the part that they took from my home so that I can have a reputable company fix my furniture. I would also like Furniture EMT to refund my money as my chair was not properly functioning within 24 hours of them coming to my home.

Furniture EMT came to repair a sofa in my home and it was not done properly.
I contacted Furniture Repair and spoke with *** the first week in July regarding the repair of my sofa located in my basement. He gave me the price of $200 since it was a structural issue. I told him I wanted to check around and would call back. After contacting a couple of places, I called them back and he gave me the company email address to email my home address. He emailed me back and we set up a date of July 7 between the hours of 9-11.

On July 7, John came to my home and I showed him the chair and the issue. He explained to me, after he checked it, that one of the boards was broken in the back of the chair, possibly from someone "plopping" down on the chair. He explained it would be an easy fix. He stayed about 20 minutes and showed me the work, which looked as if it was okay. On July 12 at 1:21pm, I called them again and advised Tony that I was in the basement and saw that the problem was still there and now what appeared to be screws were sticking out, almost penetrating the fabric. He told me to take pictures and send to them which I did, and he would share with Tony and they would get back to me by tomorrow. After not receiving a call on July 13, I called them again on July 14 at 9:45am and no one answered, so I left a message. I also texted Tony on July 14 at 2:37pm and he still didn't respond.

I contacted them again via phone on twice on July 21 and July 24 , but still no response. I have left numerous messages and I can't believe that no one has responded. After reading the reviews today, I was in shock to see that so many other people had encountered a problem with this company, down to the "screws" sticking out of the fabric and to see that the have an F with the Revdex.com.

Desired Outcome

Knowing that I have contacted them so many times simply asking them to come to my home to just look at the issue so they could repair it, I am know for a full refund in the amount of $200, which is what I paid. We can no longer use that section of the sofa and I am now having to have another REPUTABLE company come to my home to repair the same chair again.

paid $200 to condition leather furniture that created streaks and spray marks. Understaffed chair back pillows (paid $450 for 2 chairs and 1 couch)
The Furniture EMT Technician came to our home and completed his work, packed up his materials and called my wife in. She commented on the obvious conditioner wiping stains and spray on the leather and he said this would fade and go away when the furniture dries. This did to a limited extent but the leather looks worse than when he started. We paid $200 for conditioner and were never told this could happen. The explanation was that our leather must be very dry. The spray may indicate too little conditioner was applied in certain areas. Regardless, the company has an obligation to disclose this issue before you spend $200. Furniture EMT also responded that the technician "recommended applying dye to the leather to even out as well". This is a red herring excuse at the technician was referring to previous leather darkening stain and not the new staining caused by our $200 conditioning process.

Furthermore, the technician said that the reason they don't stuff the back cushions to the max is because it actually pushes you forward and becomes uncomfortable. This appears not to be true for the couch (see pictures below). The chair pictures clearly show these cushions need more stuffing. The technician was already packed up and ready to leave and provided his explanation to why he did what he did on our chairs. Nevertheless, the furniture was wet and we could not sit in them until the evening. Once we sat in the chair, it was clear that what the technician did was not right and needed repair. (paid $450 for 2 chairs and 1 couch)

This company appears capable of doing good work, but they must be supervised and not paid until you are satisfied. If you have paid and are not satisfied, they will simply ignore you.

Below is the partial email thread showing how Furniture RMT deals with issues.

You continue to avoid contacting me. This is not a good business practice. I can assure you I will not go away. This morning I left you a second voicemail stating that if you do not call me back within 48 hours, I will be forced to take action. My plan is simple, I will post the issues we have presented to you and your lack of response in rectifying the matter on sites like *** and Revdex.com. I will also fix the chair cushions and conditioning stains and contemplate filing a small claim against you company to recoup these costs.

It is a shame you chose simply to ignore me.

You have not responded to my April 21 email. When may I expect someone to drop by and fix the outstanding issues?

April 21, 2017
Thank you for your email response. From our perspective we offer the following:
1. We are not experts in leather conditioning and this "spotting" was unexpected and not what we were told would occur. We spent $200 for conditioning of the two chairs, two ottomans and one couch which seems to be more than enough to get good results (excepting the obvious oil based stains that were already on the leather. A lot of the surface area of the couch and chairs look fine, but some areas appear to have less conditioner applied like the sofa arm with apparent spray stains. If you intend to charge labor to add more conditioner to fix this problem, we are not interested in this solution.
2. Your technician indeed recommended applying dye to the leather to even out leather with respect to the oil based stains that existed in the chairs, in particular. We remain interested in paying for this service in the future, but not right now.
3. Your technician indeed stated to my wife the reason we don't stuff in back cushions to the max is because it actually pushes you forward and becomes uncomfortable. As soon as the furniture was dry and we could sit in it, we discovered that this was not the case and more stuffing was indeed needed. This decision by your technician, in our case, was not the right choice. Please, at your earliest convenience, return and fix this issue.

RAN OUT OF ROOM

Desired Outcome

Since furniture EMT has chosen not to respond to two voice mails and several emails, I have fixed the chair pillow stuffing problem my self and I also intend to reapply conditioner and I ma not impressed with this work.

I believe the only way to get Furniture EMT's attention is to have them face consequences. We paid $650 for these services. I am no longer interested in having them back in my house. So the only logical request is to have them compensate me to fix the problems they left me with. I recommend asking for a refund of the total conditioning charge of $250 and additional stuffing cost of $20 to cover materials, as I can stuff the chair cushions as well as they did.

I hope the Revdex.com can help me and also future customers of Furniture EMT.

Thank you for your prompt response.

Sincerely yours,
Richard

Repaired wooden chairs. 3 chairs had screws sticking out near the seat of the chair. Would not come out and fix their mistake.
On 3/31/17 John came to my home to tighten the arms on 2 wooden chairs. He said he would just check all 8 chairs while he was there. In 3 of the 8 chairs, there were screws sticking out of the wood into the seat area of the chair. I sent an email on 4/3/17 asking them to come out to fix the mistake. No response. On 4/5/17 I sent another email telling them I would be happy to send pictures of what I was talking about. I did get a response from Tony *** asking for the pictures. I sent all 3 pictures on 4/6/17. No response. I called them at XXX-XXX-XXXX , on 4/10/17, and spoke with John. He said when he got back to the office, he would have someone contact me. Still no response. My last attempt to contact them was on 4/14/17 telling them I would report them to Revdex.com and share on social media if they did not respond either by email or by phone and come out to fix their mistake. Today is 4/18/17 and I have heard nothing. I know they check email because when I was setting up the appointment, they contacted me multiple times by email. I paid $270 for the work. They also tightened up 3 bar stools while they were at my home.

Desired Outcome

Refund of $270. Originally I just wanted them to fix their work, but now we will have to either fix it ourselves or hire someone else to repair the chairs as they are unsafe as they are.
