Our cleaning staff found the DVD's in one of our lodges. One of our work campers called and let the customer know that they we had found the DVD's. pick them up the following weekend. The customer did not, however, come to the campground and did not call until 5-6 weeks later. The campground manager did call the customer back, but, unfortunately, the call was not answered. A few days later the customer called the office again and spoke to one of the owners. The owner informed the customer that we cannot be responsible for items left behind by customers and that we had given the DVDs away, as we do with all items that customers abandon on our campground. It is simply not reasonable to expect that we would hold onto items that have been left behind for more than a month with no word from the customer. We have had many experiences where customers have left objects behind at the campground and then never come back to claim the objects.
