Review: I have MS and drive a PT Cruiser that I had customized to carry a platform & small motorized scooter that is accessible by opening the back hatch of the car and continuously pressing a button to move the ramp out & down to access the scooter. To enable me to open the hatch I must get to the back of the car, use one hand to turn & hold the key while lifting the hatch at the same time. This has become difficult and presents a safety issue for me. I went to FRP Customs & was told they could install a button on the dash & another on a remote that would open the hatch & another to lower the ramp. They would give me automatic door locks, grab bars on the side of the car & cruise control. This sounded wonderful so in October 2013 I prepaid %4,255 for this work. The grab bars were installed to my satisfaction & the car went in for the other work. I was told everything else would be done in stages. After several months I finally had a working button on the dash that opened the hatch and a remote for door locks with a promise that the rest was forthcoming. The remote only worked if it was pointed at the dash from a 2 foot distance maximum. The auto door had to be fixed twice because of the button being pushed while the ramp was out due to negligence of not having a safety installed on the switch. Again I was promised it would be fixed. Now the back hatch no longer latches when closed. This all took place over a year and I am left with no working power door hatch, no cruise control, no lift control, shoddy power door locks, a back hatch that doesn't latch when closed and I'm out $4,255.FRP has now apparently ceased business, phones disconnected & shop empty. I approached the owner [redacted] last week as he was emptying out the shop, however he avoided me. Not only has this been poor business it has been extremely unethical considering my handicap and safety being compromised. This has been a travesty.Desired Settlement: I want my car fixed or money refunded. This really is a safety issue for me.
