shipments as well as to get the phone number of the receiver since I wanted UPS to look into the issue. On March 19th I informed UPS of the package damage and they had a UPS driver pick up the damaged package to take to UPS' third party damage claim evaluator. We got notification during the week of March 23rd that the damage evaluator believed the package had been packed adequatel and that the damage resulted from UPS personnel's handling of the package during handling. I called the customer on March 27th to bring in valuation documentation of the damaged lamp base and tell her about the claim being approved. I apologized on behalf of the store for her property being damaged and told her we would get the check for the insured value of the lamp and the packing/shipping charges for the lamp base box expidited to her the week of March 30th. The customer appeared satisfied that she had been treated fairly.
