Review: Recently there was a theft at my home/garage, I contacted my home owners insurance after filing a police report so everything that was stolen could be replaced. Insurance adjuster came out took the list, which amounted to over $10,000 in tools & equipment,inspected the area the items were in and took the police report information, told both me and my g/f there wouldn't be any problems he would have it done in a week. He requested whatever pictures we could provide that showed as much as possible and he would look at them on Thursday, this was on a Tuesday, the pictures were emailed to him on Wednesday. Contacted the adjuster a week later, was told he was working on it, he was having difficulty finding some of the tooling items/prices but was over half way through the list, we provided all replacement pricing as best possible, some items are hard to find now. Called again a week later, was told "we can drop you for running a business out of your home and it's questionable as to if you actually had all these tools and items". No business has ever been ran out of my home, I am a mechanic, have been my entire life, Built derby cars for fun, I have acquired tools over the last 30 years, worked on friends & family & my own personal vehicle, and still have $15,000 worth of tools at my job, this is not a Business! Now, a month later I still haven't received payment and am being told they have "lawyered up" with no apparent reason. Who harasses a customer this way? Who threatens a customer of 12 years just because a larger claim is filed with valid documentation from the state police. Do you not get paid every month/year? 2 years ago when the roof was damaged on the garage I was told "here's the money for the material fix it yourself", the house roof and wall damage was repaired so poorly that it has caused additional problems, yet this company refuses to do anything about it. I've never seen an insurance company harass and threaten their customers this way. It's disappointing, rude and unprofessional.Desired Settlement: I would like my claim that was filed paid in full Immediately with no deductible needed due to the harassment and threats made by this company. I would like my house repaired PROPERLY at no cost. I already paid 2 deductibles for the house claim, even though it was all filed at the same time. And when I drop this insurance company, once this is settled, due to the unprofessionalism I want no repercussions or bad reports filed to my new company.
