Freeway Transmissions Reviews (%countItem)

A little over 4 years ago I took my truck a Ford F 250 into Keith at Freeway Transmission They did the repair and it cost me $3100 as I had no forward gears only reverse worked. My truck which was my fathers (now deceased) Was used occasionally to tow his 5th wheel trailer. The truck had 124000 miles on it. The repair lasted 13,000 miles and the vehicle stopped shifting. Last summer I had a Toyota Scion XD that had 70000 miles on it, I took it to Keith and he sad it needed a transmission and it would be $3500 to rebuild as it was totally gone. On the way home the transmission snapped out of limp mode and was then fine. At the advice of a mechanic I put some Lucas transmission shift improver in after removing one quart of fluid, car has been fine since. In August my truck started acting up,(13,000 miles after rebuild) on a trip to a camp spot, it would not shift down then on the way home it was shifting really hard. After the trans cooled I pulled the battery electrical connections and after an hour reconnected them.. The truck would not shift at all out of 3rd gear, If I shifted into 2nd It would work. I thought that maybe it was the Computer so I sent it out to be checked and repaired. Put back in after and no change. Took it to Freeway and Keith said that It needed a complete rebuild again, $2500 he said that they were giving me an $800 discount as the trans only went 13,000 miles. I took the truck to another Trans Shop. Terrible service, they clearly made a mistake in the build and would not stand behind it.!!!

Mr. purchased a remanufactured transmission for his 1997 Ford F-250 on September 26th, 2014. The transmission included a 24 month or 24,000-mile warranty (whichever occurred first) on parts replaced and labor. Mr. returned the above listed truck to Freeway on December 19th, 2018 with a transmission failure. The transmission was out of warranty by over 2 years. The cause of failure is unknown and would have to be removed and evaluated to get a full understanding as to the cause of failure.

Due to the fact that the 1997 Ford F-250 had only been driven 12,072 since the transmission installation in 2014, Freeway offered Mr. an $800 discount towards the purchase of a replacement transmission. Freeway’s offer to Mr. was a show of goodwill due to the unique circumstances of this situation. Mr. declined Freeway’s offer. Mr. stated he could get the repairs done for approximately 2000.00 at another location and may have decided to go there.

Finally, in reference to the 2005 Scion listed in the complaint, Freeway’s 50 years of technical expertise has found no evidence that a transmission additive will fix or repair an internal transmission issue. It is a band aid approach that may only buy some additional time depending on the issue, miles driven, etc

Revdex.com:

I really did not think that anything would be done as superior customer service does not seem to be Freeway Transmissions goal.

You keep touting 50 YEARS in Business, many satisfied customers. Well I have news for you other companies are going to eat your lunch.

Better be prepared to have a going out of business sale in the next few years as the company I went to has a perfect rating on Google and Yelp.

Having that means that people stay satisfied beyond the warranty period. I have the promise of the shop that just completed my repair that if anything goes wrong in 13,000 miles they

will repair it no cost!!! Their work is their good name not a short warranty. Buy the way I was told my transmission had a 3 year warranty, not a two year. (keith).

I will be sending all I speak with to the other shop. Transmission shifts very smooth and seems that the solenoid valve pack works like it is supposed to this time as this is what failed.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is what I expected.

Sincerely

+1

These guys were clear and communicated the issue in a quick manner. They made the repair and even stayed open until I could get there to pick up the car. Thank you Mario for your great service!

Salt lake branch is where I had my truck transmission replaced quick and hassle free I would recommend them to anyone reason I went there in the first place for a transmission is the company I work for been getting transmissions from them for over 20 years and will continue to be a customer for many years talk to Larry and he will take good care of you thank you for being the best in the state :-)

Freeway Transmission and Keith provided the best service for me and my vehicle! They always kept me informed of where we were at with the repair and the cost. It has been a month since repairs were completed and I have not had any issues with the repairs they provide! I would definitely return and recommend them to anyone!!

paid 1700 dollars, it should habe lasted longer than 11 months or12700 miles

Complaint ID # ***

To whom it may concern,

The customer brought their 1997 Toyota Rav4 to our Murray shop on May 30th, 2017. The customer authorized a clutch replacement on their 97 RAV4 with a 12 month/12,000-mile warranty (whichever comes first). The clutch replacement was completed on June 17th, 2017 and the customer was billed $1542.77 on invoice #***. The RAV4 had 194,499 miles when the customer picked up their vehicle on June 17th, 2017.

At the time of the clutch replacement listed above, the customer was informed of multiple issues regarding the vehicles suspension, drive train, engine oil leaks, etc. The customer declined any additional repairs unrelated to the clutch replacement. The customer was informed that the clutch could be damaged if the oil leaks were not resolved due to oil saturating the clutch disc.

The customer returned their 97 RAV4 to our Murray shop on May 8th, 2018. The odometer reading at that time was 213,236. Since the initial repair on June 17th, 2017 the RAV4 had been driven 18,737 miles which is 6,737 miles more than the warranty accepted by the customer on June 17th, 2017. In addition, the vehicle was inspected, and we verified that the clutch was slipping. We also determined that none of the previous advisements from the original repair order had been repaired. Further problems with the vehicle were located and the oil leak had worsened. We reminded the customer of the vehicle problems that we found in 2017 as well as the additional problems we located during the inspection. The customer declined any further repairs and stated the vehicle wasn’t worth fixing.

We value every business relationship and diligently strive to provide our customers with top level customer service. We evaluate each warranty issue on a case by case basis and make appropriate decisions based on the facts of each case. In this case, the RAV4 was nearly 7,000 miles over the warranty limit. In addition, the vehicles clutch failure was due to the engine oil leak which the customer was advised to repair at the time of the clutch replacement in June 2017. These facts render the warranty on the customers RAV4 null and void. Please let me know if any further information is needed regarding this matter.

Sincerely,

Mark *. N, President
