I checked with the police and they stated that what this company does IS solicitation whether or not they are speaking to any resident. Freedom Marketing is violating the law by entering any property that has a No Trespassing or No Solicitation sign posted. The police also contacted this company and told them their actions violated the law. They still claimed they were within their First Amendment rights.
In 2011, The [redacted] tighten the rules on door-to-door solicitors. The restrictions approved at that time included the following:
Anyone, including solicitors, must leave the premises if a sign is posted warning against trespassing.
Phoenix requires solicitors to place handbills in clearly marked boxes or receptacles that are marked especially for them.
Violations of these city laws are punishable as a misdemeanor. A business convicted of a violation can face fines as high as $25,000.
I have been doing business with Freedom Marketing for several years now. They just finished delivering another set of my fliers this morning. Having a company I can rely on to deliver my marketing materials directly to the doors of my customers is exactly what I needed to get my business off the ground. I tried delivering fliers myself while my business was smaller but quickly realized it would not scale well. I am not in the business of delivering fliers anymore!
My experience hasn't been perfect, but I respect their efforts. It was verbally confirmed that my fliers would go out Friday(the 5th) and Monday(the 6th). However, the first half of the fliers were delivered today, instead of what I was expecting.
It wasn't a big deal, but I would have loved a confirmation email stating what to expect. The delivery happened and new clients are calling in. With accurate delivery information, The only think I would have done differently was to make a better effort to answer the phone, instead of letting it go to voicemail...(bad business practice, I know!)!
Long story short, Love the service they provide, even though they aren't perfect!
This is the only company I have ever used to delivery my fliers.
