Frank came to our house in November to set up our HughesNet satellite. We told Frank that we were having problems with our cell phone reception and he told us that he had boosters that would increase our service and it would cost $400; we were under the impression the booster was sold by HughesNet. He hooked up the booster and our cell service was a little better ... went from 1 bar up to 2-3 bars and Frank told us to give the booster a try and that he would take it back if we didn't like it. We called Frank out a second time to look at the cell phone booster because we were not satisfied with it's performance. He could not get us more bars but he does try to sell us a second booster so that we could get cell service all through the house; I declined this offer.
Since then we have been researching and asking our neighbors what they use. We were told to try Verizon's booster and last month we did...we immediately got four bars and service throughout the house and the booster was only $250. I called HughesNet to try and get our money back for their booster and was told that they have no record of me buying a booster. HughesNet informed me that they do sell boosters but that they are only $100 and that the booster should have HughesNet logo. I checked the booster that Frank sold us and it has no markings.
I have called Frank (and spoke to him directly) three times to return the booster he sold us and all three times he makes excuses and said that he was busy and had to call us back, but he never does call me back. I have also emailed him via his website and informed him that I was going to file a complaint with HughesNet and Revdex.com if he did not call me...no response. Yesterday, I contacted HughesNet and reported Frank and they have elevated the complaint to corporate level.

Dear Revdex.com,When Frank came to our home to install our HughesNet we had just moved to New Mexico and were naive to the lack of cell phone coverage in our area. Frank told us that he had a booster for cell service and we purchased one and shortly after the purchase we began communicating to Frank because the booster he sold us was not helping our cell phone situation; Frank’s only solution was to sell us a second $400 booster for our home (which we did not purchase). We started asking neighbors what they used and it was recommend to us that we call Verizon and get their booster, which we did, and our cell phone coverage was immediately far superior to the old Frank Satellite booster. My complaint is that Frank’s booster is far less superior to the booster we purchased from Verizon for $250. The boosters he sells are useless in our area of New Mexico and he should not be allowed to take advantage of HughesNet customers by selling them boosters when installing their satellites. We will only consider this matter resolved when we are reimbursed for the booster he sold us.Sincerely
