This company went back on a payment plan , causing me to be evicted and pay fees , court costs , and continue to pay rent due to misinformation.
I am a single mother and made a payment arrangement with them one month in advance for three months (March - May). I gave exact dates that I would pay and always paid as agreed. They called me May 18 and said if I don't pay my full rent by the weekend I would be evicted. We had an agreement to pay the following week but eviction papers were filed and I had to pay the full months rent , late fees, and court costs to stay. As soon as I paid I was told I had to put in my 30 day notice. They told me that they can make any payment arrangement but it may not have been OK with the owner and they never checked that whole time. I would have moved out sooner and never put myself in that situation but I was told I can't move until the balance is 0, but if I'm on a payment plan I knew that wouldn't happen for a while. Then the manager called and said that's not the case, the balance just has to be low. I went up there 3 times a week scheduling times to look at houses , crying asking if there was anything that could be done and everyone gave me different answers. I had to scramble to find a new place and they still continue to give me misinformation about turning in the keys because I have a disabled car I am waiting to tow. I would have already turned in the keys but they said that they would tell the car then someone called me back and said that's not the case. I feel like this location is trying to get money out of me , take advantage of me. And that I don't have a voice. I asked if the owner could call me and I was told I'm not allowed to get in contact with him. Once I didn't turn in the keys , they asked for my number so that he could call me. It's a big trick and I don't think it's right for me to be taken advantage of and now my family doesn't have the means to make it day to day as an outcome.
I would like either some sort of compensation or for a member of management to call me , listen to what happened , and either explain how they could let this happen or offer s sincere apology because that's one thing I have yet to get.
