I have reviewed the response made by the business, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. While I am glad my vehicle is now fixed and the estimate was accurate, I am still disappointed with the communication with this business. I do not believe that because a part is on back-order, that should diminish customer service. I am not upset with how long the repair took, I'm upset that I had little to no idea what was happening, and the added stress and constraints not having a vehicle put on my livelihood. I also believe it is unacceptable to tell a customer that the reason the repair took so long, and why I would have to pay for a rental vehicle ,was because the damage was "partly my fault", as told to me by a shop technician, Cameron. A performance chip installed 10 years ago, apparently was installed inappropriately by some other mechanic, allowing a leak (as told to me by Steve, the general manager) and this is "my fault". I will accept because I own a vehicle, and require one to get to my job everyday, that I am responsible to take care of my car and any repairs, but does that mean that all repairs are "my fault"? And that somehow makes all of the business' mistakes with this case alright? While I accept the measures that have been taken to resolve my issue, I highly doubt I will ever use this business' services again, nor will I recommend them to anyone.
