Near the top of that list headed "Worst Fears" is that of having car trouble far from home Friday, May 8, about miles from Abilene, the "Check Engine" it-light came on and, since the engine's pressures and temps remained in their ranges and there were no clunks, etc., I opted to press on, with eyes glued to the gauges and ears tuned At my Abilene destination, I called the local Ford house, spoke with the chief service consultant (who promised to get back to me, but never did); then, in some desperation, asked the next-door neighbor for a recommendation Now the promise is, "Ask, and you will receive" and I am glad that I asked The neighbor steered me to Debra Jones' DJ's Star Auto Service: I called during lunch; MsJones told me to come down at 2:and, after a diagnosis and replacement of the oxygen sensor (one of four connecting wires was not doing its job), I was out the door around 4:00, having spent a pleasant hour-and-a-half in her cool and u
