Hi Joanna,I am sorry you had such a negative experience with our company. Please know that this is something we take vary seriously. We will be making the proper adjustments so this does not happen in the future.I am attaching your original test-in, your Aeroseal results, and an overall...
before and after of your job. Please let me know if you have any trouble viewing. I know you mentioned that you did not want to speak with anyone else from our organization but I wanted to see if it was okay for me to reach out and dig a little deeper on where we went wrong. We do not like leaving customers in the position we left you in. I can be reached at [redacted] In regards to your results, they look great! You started with 28 square inches of leakage and ended with 5. Your overall duct leakage decreased by 81%. Again, my sincerest apologies. Please consider allowing me to reach out so I can make corrections.
This company also goes by the name [redacted] of Arizona, or at least they did in Nov 2015, when I hired them. I now question the authenticity of the reviews they get online. They have not come close to saving me the kind of money they claimed I would. In fact, I don't think I've saved anything. Some [redacted] bills have been a little higher and some have been a little lower than last year, since the work was done. I spent about $8500 on attic sealing, replacing duct work, insulation and a couple of other things they recommended. The main disappointment is that I still have a major temperature differential in different rooms. They guaranteed this work would make a huge difference and it has not changed a bit. About 5 months after the work was performed, I expressed my concern over not saving money to Sean, the owner. He said that I should experience the biggest decrease in my bill during the summer months, and we should talk again in the Fall. Well, here we are and no Sean to be found. He did return my first phone call and left me a voicemail after about a week or so, as he said he was out of town. I left him another nice message, apologizing for missing his call and I asked him to call me back again...no return call. I waited patiently another few days and then left a not-so-nice message telling him I didn't appreciate being blown off and I would like to discuss some sort of a refund...and still no return call. This has gone on for about 3-1/2 weeks now and I guess this review is the only thing I can do (other than the Revdex.com) to warn others, since Sean won't even respond. I bet he will now....or not...
We talked with several companies before going with FOR because of the reviews here. The gentleman who sold us the package seemed nice and professional. We got the most expensive recommendation nearly $13K. The first day of the process, the contractors came down from the attic and started googling "asbestos tape," terrifying us telling us that they think there was asbestos tape in the attic. Because of that, they refused to seal the ducts. My counter is that FOR went through the attic before all of this and saw the same items before selling us the package. The sales person then said "we'll foam the ducts -- they will be sealed" and sent out another crew.
An auditor hired by [redacted] came out and discovered major issues with the install - areas of the house we paid for weren't touched or sealed and could have been reached. The owner of FOR called and said his crew would not go to those areas due to space limitations, and rebated the square footage cost of the area that was not foam sealed.
When the subcontractors came out to fix other service failures that FOR already helped themselves to payment for, and the auditor demanded be fixed, she brought down pictures that horrified and sickened me. Not only were the ducts not sealed, they had been disconnected. We were getting NO air flow.
The last two months there has been ZERO reduction in energy usage and the dust has not decreased.
I feel betrayed, lied to and like I set fire to $13K that we paid this company because it has made absolutely no difference. We pride ourselves in taking care of our home and spent another $85K renovating the front yard, etc. This is not a capricious review or process for us. We threw away $13,000 that FOR promised us that if we spent we'd see a decrease in our bills. I have [redacted] data that shows differently. Sick sick sick to my stomach.

I contacted [redacted] to do an energy audit in accordance with its $99 offer. APS referred me to "Affordable". Regardless of function, EVERYONE I came into contact with demonstrated their desire to provide a high quality of service. As with any "construction" activity there are hiccups along the way. The people at "Affordable" addressed the ones that occurred in a timely and efficient manner. I wish all "trades people" would do as good a job as the people at "Affordable" did.
I recently had an SRP energy audit and found there were several areas in my home that needed repair to perform efficiently. I had the repairs done by Affordable Energy Solutions of Arizona and was completely satisfied with their work. The crew was knowledgeable, professional, courteous, and extremely polite. They answered all of my questions, and cleaned up the areas where they worked each day.
I would highly recommend them.
AES is a locally owned business. [redacted], the owner, and everyone else provided me with exceptional service and top quality work. I had all my duct work sealed, attic insulated and Nest thermostat. You will not be disappointed!
Awesome service!! I would highly recommend their service to anyone!!
I have used this company twice already, and referred once so far.
They are an outstanding company to use! When I first started looking for window film, I had AES come out and another company for quotes. Hands down, there was no comparison in this company. Very professional, very friendly. On time, courteous. I want to find more windows to do, just to see them again!
Affordable Energy Solutions, the owner Sean and his team reflect what an ethical, professional, courteous and effective business should be. I can't speak highly enough of this company and will recommend them, without hesitation, to anyone looking for solutions to their energy problems. It is refreshing to know that a company with such high standards exists!
Great company to work with. AWESOME!!!
I contacted Affordable Energy Solutions for an energy audit. They were very professional and completed a through audit of my house. After the audit I was provided a proposal on what I could upgrade and or replace. The work was completed and in a short amount of time I can see that the improvements are lowering my energy costs. Affordable Energy Solutions is a fair and honest company I would do business with again.
I had windows installed by Affordable Energy Solutions last week and the experience was better than expected. The team that showed up to my house to do the install was fun to get along with, and made the day as enjoyable as possible. The quality of the windows that I received is even better than I had expected, and I feel like I got more than what I paid for.
I will use these guys in the future for other improvement projects, when my funds allow.
I was looking to have some insulation blown into the attic of my 20 year old home. In the summer months my AC unit could never keep the house satisfied any time the temperature was above 110. I had FOR energy come out and take a look at the house. They recommended sealing my ducts and penetrations to the attic as well as blow in insulation.
The results are amazing. My home is more efficient and energy costs are lower, which is nice, but I was really interested in making my home more comfortable. That has definitely been achieved. As a matter of fact the AC cycled off during the hottest day in 20 years because the temperature in the house was satisfied. What a difference FOR Energy has made!
Sean (the owner) is an incredibly honest guy. He'll tell you what you actually need, even if it's just an air/duct seal, and some insulation (as was the case with one of my two homes) - and not try to sell you big-ticket items, like another energy company had tried to do. I've seen over 40% reductions on my utility bills since having AES help me out, and have the SRP annual energy comparison to prove it! Now my homes stay much cooler, much easier.
Also, they noticed an anomaly on their audit test-out, and came back to double-check, and thusly discovered a vent disconnected in an area that was basically impossible to inspect visually. The attention to detail was duly noted and appreciated.
Best of all, with the savings I'm getting, and I'll have my money back within about 2 years on all the work I had done, and after that, it's money in my pocket! I believe it also added value to the home as well.
If you're thinking about trying to save some money or make your home more comfortable, at least have AES come do a free energy evaluation - at the very least, you'll be more informed of your home's energy situation, and by an honest and reputable company, backed by an owner who will do anything to make sure you're satisfied.
Kudos to Affordable Energy Systems of Arizona. I was provided with excellent service from the scheduling and performance of the energy audit to the explanation of findings/alternatives to the execution of corrections selected. I recommend this company without reservation.
We could not be more pleased after having two energy saving installations for my historic home in downtown Phoenix. The knowledgeable and professional sales reps advised on the most effective products to keep our home cool in summer and warm in winter months. The installers were prompt, courteous and efficient in the installation. We highly recommend your company to anyone seeking to control their home or business from wasteful energy costs.
Extremely disappointed with the service and job done at my home! They put on a good show, to be sure. They kept trying to push a new pool pump on us. Me thinks they are getting kick backs from whoever is selling them the pumps. We had no need for a pump nor did we ever bring it up, still they kept insisting on it rather than deal with what we wanted them to deal with. My daughter's room is super hot, 10 degs hotter than the rest of the house. They promise huge results to sell us a deal then wrote up vague contracts. Nevertheless, we chose to give them a shot because of all the positive reviews. The fact that there was not one bad review should have put up red flags. Even the best companies out there get bad reviews now and then. After gouging us $9,000, We have had them to our house no less than FIVE times. Each time they did not do the work properly. The crew would show up to our home with no clue about what they were supposed to do, no work order, nothing! They reused our old duct work then lied to our faces saying it had all been replaced. Twice they had to come in and spend five or more hours "fixing" the issue. Still there is old duct work in place. We were told all of it was to be replaced because of recalls and it not being fit for the AZ heat. The only person willing to help us get this fixed was conveniently fired the next day. Somehow this makes me think the upper management is in on the whole, "reuse old duct work" scam. Through all of this they did not seem to concerned about fixing the issues. All they would keep saying was, "We know its not been the best experience, but please give us a good review through SRP so we can get more work." BS, I say! If you have had work done by this company I would get up in your attic and take a look. No doubt you too have been ripped off. Be Warned. Do not use this company. We got them through SRP and have given SRP our extremely negative review about these people.
Jen R[redacted] us a very complete showing of what our home needed to lower our electric bill. When the final total was more than we wanted to do, she broke it down so that we could begin to correct problems one step at a time. My husband and I now will sit down and decide what we want to do. Jen did an excellent job.
We could not be more pleased after talking to [redacted] about having a solar attic fan put in. The knowledgeable and professional advise of [redacted] on the most effective products to keep our home cool in summer and warm in winter months. The installers were prompt, courteous and efficient in the installation. We highly recommend your company to anyone seeking to control their home or business from wasteful energy costs.
