I took the Foley Belsaw Locksmith course about 18 months ago and over a period of 6 months paid them approx $1000. After completing the course, I found out that Texas requires anyone wanting to become a locksmith to do the following: (1) be gainfully employed with a certified Locksmith for a period of at least 1 year (2) the employing Locksmith must sign & certify, on a Texas State form, that you have been employed for at least a year and qualified as a locksmith. Texas will then issue you a "License" to operate as a locksmith. Foley Belsaw does not tell anyone about these requirements but simply states that after you complete their course, you can practice as a certified locksmith. This is a rip off and everyone in Texas should be aware of this. I could not find any local locksmith that would employ me to qualify so I just wasted my money.
