Review: I took my van to Flynn's Tire to have my air conditioner repaired. The cost was $242.54. My air worked for 30 minutes. I called and said I was bringing my van back. I took it back. Flynn's said that it was going to cost me an additional $750. I told them I was coming to pick my van up. I asked for a partial refund. I was told that I could only get a partial refund of $89 if I allowed them to do the additional $750 repair. I told them I had been ripped off. I paid $242.54 for 30 minutes of air. I have been taken advantage of by Flynn's tire.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Refund
I want a partial refund. What Flynn's did is not right.

Our store personnel states that Mrs. [redacted] informed them that the AC was not working and only blowing warm air and only out of the defrost on her 1997 Astro Van. After checking the vehicle, which I did not see a charge for on the order, they informed her that the fan wiring and a vacuum line needed repaired to get the fan and any air to blow out of the vents correctly. Once that was complete they would need to charge the A/C system with approximately 2 lbs of Freon and that it would include dye to determine if there were any leaks and why it was blowing warm air. The customer was informed that if the air blows warm then they would recheck the system and advise of any leaks and costs to repair. This is what was done, and when she returned they found the AC compressor leaking and provided an estimate to the customer. The customer was asking for more to be done. Our manager offered to apply the $89 evacuate, recharge and $37.98 Freon charge towards the price of the compressor and related service charges. The customer declined. After reviewing this case we believe that our personnel took the proper steps in diagnosing and explaining to the customer the options. The fan / blower was not working properly when it came in and was the first place to start in the diagnostic and repair process. The fan / blower is working properly now but blowing warm air due to the leak at the compressor. I understand that the cost to replace the AC compressor can be costly and the customer may not want to invest the money in those repairs, but we did fix the fan wiring and diagnose the leaking AC and thus will not offer any refund. With that said we would extend a good will store credit to Mrs. [redacted] for the costs of AC evac, recharge, Freon, fees and related taxes in the amount of $140. This credit can be used for any repairs or tires on any vehicle she chooses at the [redacted] location. Sincerely,Joe D[redacted]

Review: I had bought tires through Flynns's for my current vehicle and follow the 5,000 mile tire rotation to maintain the warranty as my job requires a lot of driving. My car was recently at Flynn's in January 2014 for the rotation. I just had my car in for inspection on Monday and the shop worker broke the wheel lock key in an attempt to get the wheels off for inspection. He mentioned that they were put on so tight that if I were to get a flat tire, the common person would not have been able to get the wheels loose. He ended up using alot of force to get the one off, by the second wheel, the force needed broke the inside of the wheel lock key, rendering it useless. I was told to take it back to Flynns as they were the last person to touch the wheels. I immediately drove to Flynn's and explained their overtightening with the air wrenches led to the lock being broken and the remaining locks need removed, proof in hand with the broken key. Flynn's refused to do the work, stating a blow torch would be needed, told me to go to a Jeep dealer, and was quickly shuffled back out their door all within a couple minutes time. Meanwhile the location was not busy that they could have attempted to get them loose since they were the cause of the issue. I ended up going to another tire dealer a couple miles away and they were able to remove the two remaining wheel locks so I could take my car back to finish inspection. No blow torch needed, no damage to my wheels, and no waiting to hassle with the dealer. I have been going to this location for 10 years, as well as my family has been going to Flynns for longer. This is not the first time I have been dissatisfied with how I was treated by the employees. However this is the first time they refused to fix something they did or forgot to do.Desired Settlement: I would like to get the cost I incurred to get another tire dealer to remove the remaining wheel locks and cost of 2 new lug nuts to replace the ones removed, as well as the cost of a new set of wheel locks refunded to me. I spent $52.12 at the other dealer for the removal. A new set of wheel locks for my Jeep are $50 through the Jeep dealers. I would not have had to spend this extra money if they did not excessively tighten the wheel locks with the air wrenches they use.
