The water heater that we were asked to repair had already been tampered with The thermal pile was gone before we started attempting to repair it So apparently, someone else had already attempted to repair it We were asked to repair it We attempted to repair it, but it was
not possible to repair it We were asked to replace it, so we replaced it Attached is our bill for that work We did not charge for any parts used in the attempted repairs All the materials in our material charges were for the new water heater that we installed and materials needed to install a water heater plus our markup when we provide materials We should've charges for the $burner that we bought and installed, which did not repair it, but we did not We did not charge her for about hours of work done by the master plumber in the attempted repair We did not charge her the price for the water heater install, because we were charging her Time & Material for the repairs AND install of new water heater in order to try to save her money Our price to install a water heater is $ We will agree to reduce her bill to $

The customer was the one who requested that we not pull a permit So now we will pull a permit

I am rejecting this response because: Permits were not pulled for the work done at my house, as required by lawI would be willing to bet the $1,you "normally charge" includes that cost of the required permitsI believe that since proper protocol was not followed, the cost of the permits that were NOT filed for, should be removed from the cost of the bill.
