I ordered flowers online from Flowers at Woodcroft for my grandmother's funeral. My order was for a large peace lily. When we placed the order, we gave instructions for the flower to be delivered to the funeral home. After the funeral, my mother was taking inventory of the flowers and we noticed that the flower I ordered was not there. A couple days later, I went to the florist address only to find that there was a summons on the door the building landlord filed a compliant on them for skipping out on 2 months rent. My wife called the florist no one returned her call. She then proceeded to go onto the florist Facebook page and leave a message in their private inbox. After no one called her back, she then posted a message on their public page. The shop owner, we presume, wrote back saying that the flower had been delivered. The owner called me as my number was on the order form and said that the flowers had been delivered to the church 30 minutes prior to the visitation. Once I told her that they were supposed to go to the funeral home, she then said that the funeral home had a habit of losing flowers. I was confused why she said that since she said she delivered the flowers to the church. I am a deputy sheriff for the Durham County Sheriff's Department. When I got to work today, I inquired about this company and told my next in command about the incident because the shop owner claimed she was going to file a complaint with my supervisor. I learned today, that not only has Flowers at Woodcroft not paid their rent for the past couple of months, but they have skipped out on 3 separate places and there has been a complaint filed from their flower distributed that they owe them $13K. I am extremely hurt and disappointed that the flowers that I ordered for my grandmother's funeral never made it and that my credit card was charged $123.00 . Getting my money back will not bring my grandmother back but it is a shame that someone is doing business and taking money from customers.
