I hired this company to remove a tree that fell through my roof during Hurricane Irma. During removal of the tree, they tore my access gate down (which was anchored in concrete) and broke part of my backyard privacy fence. I have repeatedly requested (by text message, by phone call and by pictures emailed to their office) that they fix the fence and the gate. These requests have not been answered and the repairs have not been made.
The company requested payment in full ($4500.00) as soon as the tree was removed which I paid. I even delivered the payment to their office in Port Charlotte. I gave them pictures at that time showing the fence and gate damage and requested the repairs be made.
Contact by the Business Just want it on record that this company did NOT follow through with repair of the damage they did to my property, despite repeated requests to do so.
I want to start my reply with the fact that our business was founded on the principles of communication, customer satisfaction, dependability and reliability. Because of that, we are the dominate and premier tree service in our area. In fact, we just won readers choice award for the year of 2017 for Charlotte county. Although the afore mentioned are traits on which our business was built on, circumstances do arise that lend themselves to breakdowns in communication or miscommunication. The circumstance in this case was the immediate aftermath of hurricane Irma. At the time we bid your removal, we were inundated with calls for other emergency jobs. I want to highlight that it was directly after the hurricane because it was one of the busiest times our business has seen in recent year. For weeks after the storm we were working 80+ hours a week to keep up with the need for dangerous removals in our community. The second thing I want to mention is that the removal we performed at your house was a massive removal done for 60% of normal cost. This discount was given solely based on our understanding that you were uninsured and had little means to pay for the job. Our compassion for you, based on these circumstances, led us to reduce the price of your tree removal.
Now that these facts are highlighted, I want to detail our work there. Yes, we did uninstall the access gate. This was necessary to perform the job, given the gigantic size of the tree and the need for heavy equipment in your backyard. We attempted to reinstall the gate once the job was finished but could not without our heavy equipment on the job. About one month after the removal, when we were just catching up from the heavy demand after the storm, we made it back to the job to reinstall the gate with our heavy equipment. Upon arriving, we noticed a crew, that you had hired, reinstalling the gate. We apologize for the break down in communication that occurred after the storm, but we also want you to know we did make multiple attempts to follow through on our promise. Lastly, the fence damage was not a result of the tree removal. It was a result of storm damage. When the tree fell, it split in half; half of the tree fell on your roof and the other half fell on your fence. Although the removal was precarious, we spared your fence as much as possible and the damage incurred was not from our crew but rather from the storm.
Given the situation, I can understand your feelings, but we want to clarify the circumstance and believe now that there is more context to the story, your negative review is not an accurate representation of what actually happened. We look forward to serving the residents of Charlotte county based on the principles our business was founded on.
Best Regards

I never questioned what your business was founded on. I can only go by my experience with you and there was no MIScommunication, there simply was NO communication. Had you answered my text messages or phone calls to let me know your intention was to fix the gate, I would not have had to go to the extra expense of hiring someone to repair my fence and gate. Also, I want to mention that it is quite coincidental that you had someone from you company come to my house, without any prior notice, to fix the gate, AFTER my complaint was filed. It was a very stressful time after the hurricane and I do thank you for your promptness in removing the tree from my house. I am sorry it has come to this due to your lack of communication.
