of State General Contractor committed a fraud, misrepresentation of a contract and theft against us, homeowners; remodeling project.
*** used license #CGCXXXXXX which belongs to State General Contractor,Inc; *** SE *** Ave.; Hialeah, FL XXXXX.They took $91,000 of our money and completed less than half of the work and did damage. The job was to take 3 months and after eight months with no progress the last 4 months, we had to fire him when we discovered the situation.*** fraudulently misstated the percentage of completion stages to induce us to make payments for work not done. He fraudulently covered up broken A/C system, TV, and broken blinds, and stole $10,000 to buy appliances which he never did purchase, lied that the TV was replaced and working and kitchen appliances were ordered and scheduled to be delivered.*** continually told us that he wants to come over and show us all his receipts. He has cancelled two (2) meetings with us so far, and uses the excuse that he needs to get his receipts together. He's had over eight (8) months to get his receipts together. That is his MO. He stalls and hopes that the complaints will go away. He even told us that when his employees quit because they were not getting paid, he said "let them do all the work trying to get their money from me." That statement sums up *** He is lazy, steals your money, doesn't pay his employees, and let's YOU do all the work trying to get your money back. He likes his money for nothing. We've spent nine (9) weeks and over $50K as of today finishing our house. Again, he sits back and lets YOU do all the work. We opened up a criminal investigation and are filing civil litigation. It takes some work to do this, but if it takes him off the streets, unable to prey on other innocent citizens, my efforts will be worthwhile. He is currently on LinkedIn and Houzz. He's already covered his face picture on Houzz with a garage door. I find that very telling. He lives in Ft. Myers on La Palma Street which is his business address. He targets people in Ft. Myers and Cape Coral. I talked to another victim of *** who said took her money for a roofing project, didn't pay the roofer who then put a lien on her house. She had to repay the roofer to get the lien removed.Again, another example of money for nothing. You might be wondering why we didn't do our homework on this con man. Well, we brought my gravely ill mother to our Florida home. She really perked up while there, and asked us to keep the house so she could visit again. So, in an emotional state of mind, we found a contractor online and signed a contract. My mother passed away one week after we returned to our home in Ohio.
I would like to be paid for the work that we did that he was contracted to do which is now $50K. I would also like him to be permanently banned from working with the public in any capacity that would allow him to take money from customers. I would also like him to pay back every customer and employee he ripped off..
RAPID RESPONSE! I called on Saturday and they were out Monday and they worked around my schedule. George came by and was dressed very professional and listened to our concerns. He looked over our roof and gave us several different directions we can take, I thought that was amazing! Great service!
