The mechanic never advised me that I should have new plywood installed overthe existing subfloor in order to achieve a smooth finishIn fact, thehallway had plywood over the subfloor which he ripped out.? If he hadadvised me that I wouldn't have a nice smooth floor without plywood Idefinitely would have gone ahead with the plywoodWhen you're spendingalmost $2000, what's another few hundred dollars to have a professionallooking floor? The mechanic said he couldn't and wouldn't fix the t-moldings between thehallway, basement and kitchen and that I should hire a contractor.? Thereason there was even a problem was because no plywood was used!? If plywoodhad been used, the floors would have been almost even with the kitchen andbasement stairs, and there would be no problem with moldings. The store manager called me looking for final paymentI had just returnedfrom an errand and hadn't inspected the floor closely.? From a distance itlooked goodBut once I walked in the room and felt the ripples underfoot, and saw the floor in different lighting, the unevenness of the floor becamequite apparentEveryone who sees the room notices the waviness in the floorboardsI invited Floor Expo to come see the floor for themselves, theynever responded.? If they really believe I agreed to have the floorinstalled as it was, and knew it would look as uneven as it does, theyshould have asked me to sign a waiver.? No one would be happy with the floorthe way it looks now
