Flip Flop Renovations

I hired this *** from Flip Flop Renovations LLC to do some renovations in my apartment ,painting the walls,tiles,floor,kitchen,bathroom,for amount of $3300 total,I paid him 2000 upfront deposit to start the work and gave him the keys.The estimate date was made on 11/12/2019 and the due date was supposed to be 12/02/19.We shake the hands,and I payed him $2000 and gave him the keys.He gave me a written affidavit that he received the money and a copy of his ID.on the date of 11/23/19 I went to see how is the work going on and nothing has been done.I called him to find out why and he said the work is going to start on 11/25/19.he never showed up to the side work ,and because of that reason I had to switch to a different contractor.when I asked him to return me my money and house keys ,he went inside my house ,took his tools and disappeared. After a few days I contacted him and he will not answer, I sent him multiple texts and I do have a proof of that ,which can be proven in the court of law if necessary.He has promised me multiple times that he will refund the money and return the keys ,but he never did .At the present moment he still have my keys for the house and the money ,and im afraid to sleep at night because somebody has the keys for the house.
