Review: The academy owner [redacted] advertised at the public schools in Norwalk, Wilton, and others with flyers re: offering financial aid to families that qualified. Once we were accepted, we became "the financial aid families" as she would address us when speaking to us every single time. We were told what we had to pay monthly as well as what the requirements were in order to belong. We had to according to her provide over 60 hrs of volunteering for each month. For a total of 8 months. This was to give back what she had supposedly given me in monetary savings for the services of ballet my daughters were receiving. In addition to the $175 per month that I was paying. My concern was how all the prices for the uniforms, ballet shoes, tap shoes, jazz shoes, hair nets, ballet liners, makeup, rehearsal fees, private dance lessons?, tuition installment fees were all inflated tremendously. If we were financial families why jack up the prices? To make matters worse she's charging all the financial aid families for 8 months of ballet, when she's only providing 7 full months. That alone was very sketchy? What is she doing with an extra months fee from over 60 families? Whom she's not providing services too??? When I asked her she said that I was ungrateful and that money up front was for all the attire I had received In advance?? Huh? I was already paying that plus some in the installment fees of $160 per child for a total of $320 just for installment fees for 8 mos. she is rude and condescending, and has no manners when speaking to other adults. She had the audacity to kick my daughter out of her school because she said we were "ungrateful"! Why? Because I was asking about how you can charge for 4 months of tuition for only 47 days worth of ballet? Basically charged me over $650 dollars for those days. And to top it off followed up with a delusional letter stating how I had removed my daughters? Not how she had kicked us out. Clearly unethical, and degrading.Desired Settlement: I would like for [redacted] business to be investigated-Her ridiculous charges to the "financial aid" families- Her bogus made up charges, and her inflation to everything else. It seems like she's stealing from many hardworking families and pocketing the cash gained through "free labor" and donations made by the financial aid families, plus the individual fees to each family. Determined how? Shes utilizing this to make her business grow in an unethical and unfair treatment towards people
