Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:MrM [redacted] does not satisfactorily respond to the issues brought up in the compliant previously submittedThere is ample evidence that MrM [redacted] took possession of the vehicle with the ABS, break, and flashing check engine lights illuminatedOnce in his possession all three of these lights were suddenly not illuminatedThe ABS and break lights are easily stopped from illuminating by clearing the codes from the system, and we have evidence that the check engine light was tampered with so that it would not illuminateThis vehicle was sold to us under pretenses that it was in “great condition.” We know MrM [redacted] was negligent in his disclosure of the issues with the vehicle, even taking into account his statements that he had no prior knowledge of themThe lights were cleared, the check engine light was tampered withThere is overwhelming evidence that MrM [redacted] was negligent and he should be financially responsible for rectifying the dispute.Secondly, MrM [redacted] makes a claim that we “were knowledgeable about automobiles and he expressed the fact that he was mechanically very savvy.” This is a complete fabrication, and additionally should have no bearing on this complaintWhen presented with the facts on the vehicle that we were told by our mechanic, MrM [redacted] became defensive and sarcastically said to my husband “well you must be a mechanic then,” when we didn’t allow him to explain away the severe mechanical failure with the engine.In conclusion, our desired outcomes still standMrM [redacted] can refund us the total cost of the vehicle and we will return it to him for resale, or he can pay for the mechanical fixes to the engine at a reputable mechanic shopWe do not trust mechanic he is trying to send us to due to the damaged relationship with MrM [redacted] and poor reviews of the recommended shop’s work Sincerely, [redacted]
WE SOLD THIS VAN ON AN AS IS BASIS WE HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF ANY DEFECTS? THE COUPLE WERE KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT AUTOMOBILES AND HE EXPRESSED THE FACT HE WAS VERY MECHANICALLY SAVVY? THEY DROVE THE VEHICLE AND WERE VERY EXITED TO BUY IT? AMONGST THEE PAPERWORK WAS AN EXPLANATION OF WHAT AS IS MEANS AND IN IT IT SAYS THAT ALL USED VEHICLES WILL HAVE SOME PROBLEMS THIS DOCUMENT WAS GIVEN TO ME BY THE D.O.L INSPECTOR ? ( ? [redacted] ? )) AND I WAS TOLD TO USE IT ON ALL SALESI HAVE OFFERED TO HAVE OUR MECHANIC DO THIS WORK AT A REDUCED RATE OF APPOXIMATLY OF WHICH THEY WOULD HAVE TO PAY THEY TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT GET IN TOUCH WITH HIM HOWEVER HE IS VERY REACHABLEALL OF THESE DOCUMENTS ARE AVAILABLE ?
