Review: I originally reserved a room with the Flamingo Motel in Oxnard through Hotels.com on February 25, 2015 at approximately 2:00pm for 1 nights stay on February 26, 2015 to February 27, 2015. My cousin was undergoing surgery at St Johns Regional Medical Center across the street on the morning of the 26th and I wanted to stay close by for the initial 24 hours following surgery. Shortly after reserving the room, I was advised by the hospital I could stay there in the hospital room that night, so I immediately contacted Hotels.com to cancel my reservation. According to the website, I would not be charged until check-in or check-out and only by the motel. I had until 6:00 on the 25th to cancel. I cancelled at 3:00 (3 hours prior to the end of the cancellation period). I never spoke to, nor stepped foot on the property of the Flamingo Motel. I never provided them with my information, nor did I authorize them to process my credit information. On March 3rd, I noticed that my card was charged anyway by the Flamingo Motel. When I called them, they said they had no information regarding my reservation, nor could they help me without the confirmation number. When I gave them the information, they said it wasn't their number and would not refund my money. Hotels.com says they cant help me as it is Flamingo Motel who billed me and would have to refund the money. "Jack" who claims to be the manager says I have to take it up with Hotels.com. I never authorized the transaction with Flamingo, I terminated the reservation with Hotels.com as prescribed, yet Flamingo still processed the charge against my credit card.Desired Settlement: The $63.56 charged to my account plus $34 in NSF fees and late charges incurred by the unathorized charge and failure to refund immediately. The failure to refund resulted in 1 nsf charge and a late charge incurred when I couldn't pay my insurance payment because the funds weren't there when they should have been.
