Fisher Funeral Home takes our business seriously and sincerely.We are sorry to hear of this "complaint filed with your office from a [redacted] in regard to filing of a death certificate.
We often deal with people in circumstances when they are grief - stricken and often...

misunderstand facts and situations surrounding things when someone is deceased. We feel strongly that this is the issue here.
In this situation, we appreciate what Michigan Law is regarding filing death certificates within a certain time frame. Unfortunately, oftentimes, there are many things that prevent the death record from being filed as promptly as one may think. Examples of this situation may include such things as not being contracted with the appropriate party immediately after death, delays in getting information gathered from contracting party (as in this case), delays in getting the physician's signature and other information regarding causes of death, weekends and holiday schedules of both funeral home and city clerk's offices. Oftimes, several of these types of situations present themselves in what appears to be a possible "delay" in the filing of the death record with the appropriate city clerk. 
Specifically in this case, [redacted] was not the contracting party (her niece was), was either misinformed from the [redacted] County Clerk or she has mistaken her dates. It is clearly date stamped on the certificate itself as to the date of file, Friday, July 15, 2016. She allegedly was there on Tuesday,19, 2016.  Further, she was not privy to the fact that we were not contracted by her niece, [redacted] or provided some the the vital statics necessary to file the death record until several days after contract date, July 5, 2016, thus postponing the filing of said death record.
Fisher Funeral Home strives to file all death certificates as timely as possible. We are sorry for any inconvenience that any miscommunications from the clerk's office, our staff and her family may have caused her. We do understand that she was able to purchase the death certificate copies she desired on some date after the file date of, July 15th, 2016.
