Two days after purchasing my vehicle the service engine light came on. I told Fisher's Auto, he said to bring it back to be fixed. When I got the vehicle back the light was off and he said the problem was fixed. Two days after that the light came back on again. Told Fisher's again and he said bring it back to have it checked once again. The car is being checked for the same issue when there is another issue going on. After I get the car back the light comes on again and I'm told to take it to the Main dealership(Nissan) to have it addressed. Nissan addressed the same issue that has already been addressed but also said that there is another issue going on. I told Fisher's about the other issue at the time and was told that the car should be fine. Once again the light comes back on for the fourth time. I was told to take it back to Nissan to have it looked at again. Nissan told Fisher's what the problem is and now does not want to fix it.

I am responding to complaint ID # *** from ***.*** purchased a 2002 Nissan Altima from us on 03/13/2019 with assistance from here uncle. They were looking for a vehicle in the $2000 to $3000 price range. I told them it is hard to find quality vehicles in that price range. Every vehicle we sell is put in our service shop to insure safety and major mechanical issues. After a week of shopping they decided to purchase our vehicle.They were well aware that the vehicle was sold as is and signed multiple forms showing this. A couple days later *** called and said the idle was erratic and the check engine light came on, even though it was sold as is I ask her to bring it by so our tech could look at it.He made a few adjustment and thought he had it solved. A couple weeks later *** contacted me and said the problem was back. At that point I gave her a loaner car for a couple days and took the vehicle to Cochran Nissan where I spent $387 for the repair. Even though the vehicle was sold as is I don't do business like that.*** contacted me a week later and said the car was running good but the check Engine light came back on. I advised her to return to Nissan since they did the last repair.Nissan thinks the catalytic converter is going bad, the vehicle runs fine but she will need to address the converter at some point.I feel we have been more that fair with *** and she must understand that $3000 vehicles that are 17 years old are going to need repairs, I am confident that the vehicle we sold her is a safe and sound vehicle.Thomas DPresidentFisher Auto Sales

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. When I purchased the vehicle on 3/13/19 the only document that I received was the purchase agreement. I was not given any other documents. The copy of the agreement that I have, none of the boxes are checked in the warranty section. I understand that the vehicle is 17 years old and will eventually have problems, but as I had stated in the original complaint, this started happening 2 days after I had purchased the car. Also if the vehicle was checked out in their own service shop as stated by Mr. D, the service engine light should not be on 2 days after purchase. I had talked to Mr. D several times (refer to complaint dates) and never once did he state that I had purchased the vehicle as is, also he asurred me to have Nissan call him if there were any other problems.

Again if the vehicle was properly checked out in their own shop as Mr. Dean stated, the service engine light should have never came on 2 days after purchase.
