I ordered a National Geographic road map of Mexico by phone, paid by credit card. I received a street map of Denver. Called to ask for a return and Owner Patrick K[redacted] was very curt, unsympathetic and told me "No returns." Then he agreed to a return with a 25% restocking fee. When I told him that he didn't seem very concerned with customer service he replied, "That's probably true." When I said I would dispute the credit card charge, he finally agreed to refund my card after he rec'd the map. The problem has not yet been resolved. I'm returning the map today.
Review: Rockford Publishing sent us some sample maps, which we thought would be great to have in our store. We called to place an order and we ordered 10 of each map design (30 maps total, at $1 each = $30) and were very excited to add these maps to our store. Upon receiving the maps, we realized they had sent us over 100 maps and charged us $108. When we called to figure out the mistake, we were told to return the maps and a refund would be mailed to us in the form of a check. I mailed the maps back via USPS (I have the tracking) and they were delivered on September 2, 2015. By October 13, I still have not received a check so I gave the company a call. I asked to speak to whoever was in charge of the billing and I was told that that would be [redacted] who will be in on Friday and then the gentleman hung up on me. I called back and tried to explain my situation but was cut off again and was told [redacted] will be in on Friday. I then asked to speak to the owner or manager, to this, the gentleman said, "I don't have time for this!" and hung up on me again. I then made a note to call back on Friday, October 16th. In the meantime, I went on Yelp and left a professional, yet concerned review on Rockford Publishing's page (via my personal Yelp account - [redacted]). I also left a Facebook review that was very similar. Within 10 minutes, we received a call at Bethany Beach Books from [redacted] at Rockford Publishing who was extremely vulgar and said that we had better take down our review, that we had one minute to take it down otherwise he was going to "blast us online." The person who accepted the call, Jackie - the owner of the store, explained that he wasn't speaking to Amanda. He then continued to be extremely vulgar and used many explicit words and then hung up. We still have not been able to resolve our issue nor have we received a refund or any indication that a refund will be sent.Desired Settlement: We just want our refund. We also don't want any other small businesses to go through this in the future.
