First State Mailbox and General Contracting

Review: Mr. [redacted] operated under the name of First State Mail Box and General Contracting in Millsboro, DE. He contracted to perform general contracting and repair work at my home. He invoiced for a deposit of 50% of the work to be performed plus 100% of the supplies. In total he was paid $3,562. He started the work but never completed it. The work that was performed was poor. Of the $3,562 paid to him, he completed approximately $1,275 of the work. In an effort to elude completing the work or repaying the funds he disolved the company. He also billed my builder for work that was never performed. I've been advised that there are other victims.Desired Settlement: I'd like to see [redacted] in jail for defrauding people. At a minimum, I hope to warn other consumers not to use him.

Review: The Board Members of a Rehoboth Beach Condo hired [redacted] (First State Mailbox and General Contracting) to replace the shutters on our building. We received an estimate from him on November 8,2012. We accepted this estimate and gave him a deposit of $2000 on January 29, 2013. We were promised the shutters would be installed in the spring, March or April of 2013. They were not installed. [redacted] told us he had the shutters in his storage unit but was unable to do the job because of poor weather. We were then promised it would be done in September 2013. [redacted] has now informed us that he could not do the job and another promise that he would return our deposit of $2000 by the end of December 2013. We have yet to receive a refund nor have we heard from him and he is avoiding all calls.Desired Settlement: We would like a refund of $2000 as promised by [redacted] by any means necessary.
