First Southern Restoration

We had a major problem in our basement. Over the past month or 2, there was a sewage backup that then turned to mold. We hadn't went down since putting Christmas stuff down there. Due to the Covid pandemic, finding a crew was nearly impossible. Tracy and his team didn't hesitate and got right to work making my home safe again for my family. He's been awesome and bent over backwards helping even with things he didnt have to. (tornado knocked down a tree the day before the dumpster was being picked up. He took care of it for me!) My Basement is looking great!

On 8/01/19 we hired him to do some drying and replacing of drywall and floors. Everytime something needed to be fixed, he didn't appear to know how to fix it. When he broke my waterline leading to my icemaker, he stated he wasn't a plumber, when he tore out my old cabinets, and put the replacements in, her cut the entire back off the kitchen cabinet to "fit the pipes" he didn't just cut the circles out for each pipe to come through the cabinet, he cut a 7inch square out around all the pipes. This man does not know what he is doing. We had to fire him. When he obviously was doing shady business practices for the flooring. He would not get the flooring we wanted, he wanted to replace our flooring with much cheaper products. Then saying his "buddy" couldn't get that as easy. In talking to the flooring company he was supposed to be buying it from, it was a floor they didn't keep in stock, and it would have to be ordered, and he hadn't ordered it. When we fired him he had already been paid $4200 and sent us a bill for $400 more. I don't even have floors. The drywall hasn't been finished out, he did not paint, he did not remove the floor he is billing for. He destroyed the cabinets we purchased. And he removed structural boards in a wall that he did not replace. He left live wires exposed without caps. The insurance adjuster came back out and stated we had more damage now then what we started with.

I recently hired First Southern Restoration, LLC (Located at 355 East Harris Road, Bethpage TN 37022) to do a dryout, repair my walls, replace baseboard & trim and reinstall flooring. In order for him to start the drying out process, I had to pay him a downpayment. He later received the check from doing the dryout a couple of days before Oct. 25, the day that he called to say that he (Tracy M, the owner) had been called out of town for another job and could not finish the job. He claimed to credit back what was not finished on the drywall which was $65 (so he claims). Then stated that I still owed him 144.00 and that I could use that to fix the mailbox that he hit. The crazy thing is...The walls weren't done right and he didn't add everything that wasn't finished in the $65. He now refuses to take my calls. So I'm just warning people to think twice before they deal with him and his company. He may have completed great work for someone else but it wasn't the case for me. Here are some pictures of some of the unfinished work and my mailbox. You can still see nails and tape on my walls. I should have done some research before I hired him to work on my house because there are several complaints on him and his company. Think he's had more than one business address and phone number.
