Review: This company, First Response Bedbug Dogs and the [redacted] claims to have a bedbug inspection dog who is certified by the [redacted] to go into people's houses and detect the appearance of bedbugs. His website even carries the [redacted] logo. Not only is he NOT certified by the [redacted], according to them, but his service is a complete scam and completely misleading. I feel this kind of dishonest business practice should be illegal. This company is taking advantage of people in a time of great distress and compounding it. This is only making an already big problem in New York even more complicated!Also, his customer service is abominable. Of course I asked for a refund, but he was utterly rude and inappropriate on the phone and I was made me feel like I have a problem. The booming business practice of bringing bedbug dog inspection teams into people's houses in NYC and scamming them into believing they have a bedbug infestation when they don't is utterly disgusting and totally hurtful to the city. This should be highly regulated.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for the $299 I paid for a misleading service. Had the dog been properly trained and the handler show some duty of care, the results and the service would have been appropriate. Not only that, I feel he should be fined and not be allowed to operate, to go into people's houses and diagnose them with a major issue until he get a proper and legal certification. The city would benefit if he was shut down.
