signed by both parties was a month-to-month lease which could be terminated by either party on any given month. I have a copy of this document and would have enclosed it with my response but uploading a document into this response page is not an option. Please contact me separately if you would like to review a copy of the month-to-month sublease that [redacted] and her husband signed. My company's broker fees as well as other real estate companies are nonrefundable. An agent's duties are limited to marketing the apartment, showing it to prospective tenants, and handling the lease negotiations and paperwork. Once the leases were signed, an agent's role in the transaction are concluded. When [redacted] first emailed me about the situation I contacted Rashard A[redacted] on her behalf as a courtesy to provide good customer service but this situation reaches beyond the scope of my actual obligations. Furthermore I offered to find her another place to live at no charge but she did not answer my last email which had additional questions regarding her search criteria. My company prides itself on professionalism and customer service and we've never had to deal with a situation such as this one. I'm still willing to help [redacted] find another place (at no charge) but my company will not refund the broker fee for a transaction that was closed months ago where the tenant actually moved in and lived in the apartment.
