My future son-in-law got a new job at Fife RV center. He asked me to come down to be a practice customer because I had no intentions of buying. When I got there he told me that he would be observing the process by watching a senior (that's short for high pressured and unethical) salesman. Over the six hours I was there the shell game and tricks of the trade were never ending. I would ask a question but the salesman said he couldn't answer questions like what are the payment, what is the blue book price, etc until I talked to the finance guy. I was shown a used RV that was the closest to anything I might be thinking of buying in the future. I'm 72 and retired so making big investments at this stage is not good. I was told the that RV had only one previous owner and that because I was a relative of an employee that I would get a 72point inspect and fix PDI service. "If they found anything that wasn't working properly they would fix it. When I got to the finance guy he wouldn't answer my questions until he ran the forms thru the computer. He puts a big stack of forms in front of me and I said to him "the salesman must have told you that I agreed to this purchase. By this time I'm aware that I am being railroaded into a sale but I remain non confrontational because of my son-in-law. It was 5pm, I needed to get out of there so I signed the papers. I thought that I would simply cancel this the next day because of the 72 hour grace period for large vehicle purchases.
when I called in the morning the finance man said I signed the papers and there was no 72 hr grace period Of course I did not believe him so I called the Attorney General who confirmed the bad news of NO grace period. When I went for the walk thru 2-1-20 I was told they did not do the PDI, the battery was was not charging the the slides would not work even though it was plugged in. I became ill, asked the service man to have them call me. that was 3 weeks ago and still no call. and no RV
After meeting with Ms. this past weekend we have come to a mutual agreement that we believe satisfies all of her concerns.
Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
Sincerely
The dealership service department is accusing us of driving the RV with the stabilizing jacks in the down position and thereby damaging them. The RV has always been parked. We have not driven it for camping, as they are well aware. They have come up with excuses to not fix any of the warranty work that has needed to be done. We have owned the RV for less than a year and while the RV has been parked in my daughter’s driveway, we have stayed in it, and found several things wrong with it. Since we live in Montana, this week (Oct 9) was our first chance to make a warranty appointment and get things fixed. The service department acted like they had never heard of us when in fact we had called them about the warranty work weeks in advance.
We submitted a complaint against Fife RV. We purchased a 23ft Forest River travel trailer from the dealership on Pacific HIghway in Fife, WA in November 2017, with a 1-year warranty. There was no choice for this RV location in the forms we filled out online. We took the trailer in for promised warranty work on 10/9. The service department is now accusing us of damages that would have been impossible for us to have done. The trailer was parked all of the past year at my daughter’s home in Lakewood. We live in Montana. Thanks
We have been in communication with the ***'s regarding their trailer. We advised them that the parts have been ordered for the jacks and once they arrive as a good faith gesture we will send someone to the location of their trailer in order to have the jacks replaced.
