The original quote was to repair the whole air conditioning system He quoted me one hundred dollars for a used compressor and two hundred and fifteen dollars in labor and frto recharge the A/C's refrigerant levels He never told me there may be additional problems with the air conditioning system when I took the car in for the initial quote It wasn't until the second time I brought my car into the shop, on August 2, that he told me there were more problems with car's A/C than he originally told me It was on this date, that he told me the entire system was contaminated and the compressor was blowing out debris, and it would cost me one thousand dollars to fix the A/C This is after I was already invested almost three hundred dollars into it, with nothing fixed

The original estimate quoted to the customer was to replace his A/C compressor which was inoperableAt the time of the estimate, it was explained to the customer that there may be additional problems with his air conditioning system, but that this was the first stepThis was also noted on his
receiptBecause customer did not have enough money to replace the compressor with a new one, he opted to use a used partGenerally, we do not warranty a used part, particularly if it was purchased from another yard, this is the chance a customer takes with a used partWhen the compressor (used) we received did not work, which could only be discovered after it was installed, the system evacuated, and re-charged with refrigerant, we convinced the junk yard to give us another one at no additional costWe then replaced the compressor again, at no additional cost including the refrigerant neededOnly then could we tell that the rest of the system was contaminated and would require the replacement of additional parts.We work very hard to come up with accurate estimates for service, and went the extra mile for this customer by doing work twice but only charging onceUnfortunately, sometimes more work is required to repair somethingThe customer did not seem to understand that he had ADDITIONAL problems to his air conditioning system that were not part of the original estimateThese problems are not our fault; they arise directly from letting an air conditioning compressor fail to an extreme extentThere is no way for us to have known this without replacing the compressor (which we did) and running the system. We are truly sorry that his car has more problems than we anticipatedWe tried to work with the customer to come to a conclusion that we were both satisfied withWe cannot repair these additional components for free
