Review: An associate of Fisher & Burns, LLC named [redacted] left a message on my phone and my sisters phone indicating that he has important documents that require a signature. The man stated that he needed to verify if the documents need to be re-routed to another address and gave the call back number of [redacted]. When I called this number the guy told me that there was a subpoena going out to my sister's place of employment because their is a judgment being issued against me for debt I owe. He said at first he had it going to a previous employer but found out that I no longer worked there. He told me the original creditor's name and said the debt amount owe was $6,843.85. I told him I had not been sent anything in the mail from Fisher & Burns or the original creditor([redacted]) to dispute or acknowledge the debt. I told him that I did not have any debt anywhere close to $6,843. He said the balance I owed at charge off was $2,750 but $4,053 was added due to interest. My complaint is that I don't believe that a subpoena was being issued and that they were using a scare tactic that actually worked because I gave this company by bank acct information. He said if I worked something out now that they would accept installments and stop the subpoena from being issued. My other complaint is that I believe that interest begins to accrue from the date a judgment is rendered until the judgment is paid in full. I believe it is illegal for them to add this amount of interest or interest at all. I have received other offers from different collection agencies who generally offer a settlement well below the credit card balance at time the debt was charged off. Also,Per review of my credit report the account name for this account they allege that I owe shows [redacted] and not [redacted] and that the past due amount shows zero.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive a proper letter to dispute the debt they are alleging that I owe. I would like them to mail me a copy of any judgment they have for the debt they allege I owe. Proof that Fisher & Burns is licensed to collect debts in the state of Louisiana. If the debt is valid, I would like to pay a reasonable settlement amount. I am also requesting documentation that Fisher & Burns has received from the original creditor, [redacted] regarding the debt they allege I owe.
