A company called Fastrac Air Conditioning and Heating installed a new unit in my home on May 30th weekend in 2008.
I am in the process of replacing a failed16 SEER A/C unit coil. The unit that t was sold to me as a matching set was a 16 SEER compressor outside and a variable speed furnace inside with humidifier.
The coil has failed, the HVAC technician replacing the unit has confirmed that the unit inside was leaking oil and plastic was not removed, add to this that the unit installed for the coil is a 13 SEER. That unit, I am told is a difference of $1600.00 and does not have a thermostatic expansion valve that the 16 SEER unit has. That valve and installation is another $200.00 and still does not get me to the 16 SEER unit I originally purchased.
