On June 6, *** brought in his Ford Explorer and talked to *** about his problem with his transmission and was quoted an estimate cost of $*** agreed to the price and said go ahead and get it done*** wrote up the work order and submitted it to the shop foreman to get started
on the repairsThe vehicle was pulled into the shop and the Tech assigned to the job got the process started and the transmission was removed at the end of the day. The next day the Tech working on the vehicle noted on his paperwork that there was an excessive amount of engine oil leaking from the engine oil pan gasket*** estimated the cost to replace the engine oil pan gasket and the rear main engine seal and timing chain tensioners (which are commonly found broken in the bottom of the pan)*** called *** and explained to him the additional work that was found *** then stated that he would have to check with his sister and get back with himThe next day *** called *** and stated that yes it need to be done and go ahead and do itThe next day June 08, *** called back and said to NOT do any work because he could not get any funding to pay for the repairsAt this time *** & *** discussed the situation and *** told *** that if we stop now than he would still have to pay for the labor that has been done up to this point and the transmission would be boxed up and placed in the back of the vehicle, he stated that he understoodWhen *** came and picked his vehicle up he did not seem upset or negative about it the only thing he said was that we were taking his last $(actually $479.76) and seemed to be ok with everything and stating that he understoodI have looked at the final repair order that was paid and admit that the work order should have been readjusted to state the facts as they transpired*** removed the parts list but left the labor line as it was but did adjust the labor amount that was agreed upon for the amount of the labor investedI do not feel that we Lied to or Dishonestly represented any charges or misled *** in any wayMy office desk is feet from ***s desk and I heard the conversations the they had when *** was hereWhen *** did come pick it up he seemed more bothered that no one would lend him any funding to get his repair done.If there are any questions please give me a call.Thank you,*** ***General Manager***
