Review: I have been using this laundromat for over a year. The owners are an elderly [redacted] couple, and I loved giving them my business. I recently dropped off 3 items of dry cleaning totaling $11.50. 2 weeks later, after I returned from [redacted] for my grandfathers funeral, I came to pick up the dry cleaning and they could not find it. I had to run so I told them to keep looking and I would come back in a day or two to see if they had found it.I returned 2 days later to find that they obviously had not found my clothes. Instead of apologizing and offering me the refund outlined in their policy hanging on a poster on the wall, they proceeded to claim that in fact I had already picked up the clothes, and that I was lying. We then began fighting, and the male owner began accusing me of being a liar because I was 'a young person.' I tried explaining that there was no way I had picked up the clothes...why would I still have the ticket, and why would I go through all of this over $11.50. I explained that I have been a good local customer, and all I wanted was my clothes or a fair refund. I wasn't even angry when they had lost the clothes, I understand that it happens. But it is unacceptable that they called me a liar and refused to refund me what I deserve.Please note that this couple speaks very little English.Desired Settlement: They need to know that it is not acceptable to go against your said refund policy, and to accept the responsibility of losing someones clothes. They also need to understand that they cannot yell at their customers and accuse them of lying based on their age.The refund policy on their wall claims that the most they will refund is three times what the charge is, so in this case is would be three times $11.50, or $34.50. I think in the very least I deserve that.
