Hi Benita,This is Michael *** from Famous Photo Booths responding to your letter about complaint ***.We have talked with Mr *** a number of times and explained the difference between a software update and software upgrade.We purchase the software from another company called Dark Room and
they do supply us with free software updates which Mr *** is still getting for the software he purchased.Dark Room released a separate new software called "photo booth 2" that they sell as a separate productThis is not free for us and we don't buy it for our pervious customers although Mr *** has that option.We never have advertised anywhere free software upgrades, we have always and still advertise free software updates.The software Mr *** owns is still being continuously updated and improved, and he gets that for free

Although I acknowledge and understand the position of Famous Photo Booth in regards to their software updates vsupgrades, it is still my opinion that it is misleading to the consumer that the software provided with the purchase will be kept up to date and current as clearly stated on their websiteThe 3rd party company that provides the software has not provided updates to version since May 6, 2015, which clearly shows that they are no longer providing active service to the software and version is meant to replace the existing software Updates to Version are regularly updated, as most recently on 7/It is also in my opinion that it is inaccurate to compare version and as different software as they 1.) bear the same product name, 2.) provide the same functionality, 3.) version is not available for purchase, and 4.) customers that have purchased equipment after 1/1/have access to the most current software version which provides the functions to use equipment.That being said, I have already purchased the upgrade to version so I can ensure that my business is not interrupted by potential software malfunctions in the future due to version updates, or the lack there of This is NOT about the $it costs to bring my equipment to the current version, it is about the misleading nature of the services and support that were implied by the company when I purchased my equipment
