[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved] Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:It is not acceptable for business to speculate mindset of customerThey never informed me while at the home this was a different problem and cost would be incurred if any work doneThis is a communication error on the business. Also there is an implied warranty of proper workmanship in the *** ** **. I am not aware of any business or service who would perform work without the explicit approval of customer before performing job where cost would be incurred. If business would have been transparent during the Feb visit that there would have been additional cost we would have avoided this entire situationRegards,*** ***
I went back and reviewed the history on this jobWe were called on 12/29/and were told the issue over the phoneAfter hearing this issue we explained that the course of work necessary to fix the issue would be to replace the Temperature Pressure relief valve on the hot water heater and possibly
the pressure reducing valve on the water mainWe quoted a price to do said work and it was approved by the homeownerWe came out the next day and replaced the temperature pressure relief valve, check the pressure in the home and found it to be well over 90lbs which meant the pressure reducing valve did in fact need to be replacedWe replaced it and testedA week later we received a call that the homeowner was not satisfied with the pressure in her home and wanted it turned upwe sent back a mechanic the next day and adjusted the pressure to her likingNo charge of courseA month later we were called by the homeowner again saying that the hot water heater temperature pressure relief valve was blowing offWe sent out our mechanic and he found that the expansion tank had failed and was now water logged and had to be replacedOur mechanic did so and now all is fixedWe only charged for work that was completed and needed to fix the homeowners problem
We fixed what was diagnosed AND those items did indeed require repairOn the final return visit our mechanic found that the expansion tank had failed and needed replacementThis was unrelated to and separate to our work to date It was our understanding the homeowner wanted the issue resolved and would have paid someone if not us to make the repairOnce my mechanic discovered this he went out and got the replacement part, returned and fixed the issue
