While traveling to move my son out of the dorms at UC Santa Barbara, my Ford Explorer starting smoking on the freeway outside the Gaviota Rest Area (miles from Goleta, where the college is located) I called AAA and a tow truck brought me to AAA-recommended mechanic at Fairview Shell in GoletaThey couldn't assess the car for one hour, so I left and they called me minutes later to say that I needed a new thermostat housing and with parts and labor, it would be about $and ready in 2-hours As I was in a bind and needed the car, I agree to the price
I immediately called a mechanic friend in my hometown (San Francisco) who talked to a Ford mechanic, who noted that this Ford part was about $and non-Ford part about half the price or less, and it was only a 2-hour job max and shouldn't cost more than $We found a non-OEM thermostat housing part for Ford Explorer on carparts.com for $(they charged $for the same part)
When I went to pi
Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 11514748, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I am still awaiting reimbursement by the business per our AAA arbitration, so if that does not arrive, this is not acceptable.
