Fairman Family Farms; Barn and Outdoor Wedding

Review: I previously contacted this business about renting out a wedding venue. It is in another state so the gentlemen [redacted] said I could pay half my deposit until I would be available to come see the Venue. I sent him a money order for half the deposit of $250. I then contacted him again about coming to see the Venue over Memorial Day weekend. He set up a time for me. I arrived at the Venue on time and no one was there to show me around. Finally his wife Sandy had arrived and wasn't expecting me to be there. I told her that her husband set up this time for me to come see the Venue. I then gave her the rest of the deposit $250. No one ever gave me a contract to sign. I then contacted [redacted] about not having my Wedding there anymore and asked for a refund of my deposit. He said in the contract that I had signed said no refunds on deposit. I never signed a contract and would like my $500 deposit back. He will not contact me anymore about the subject and wont return my phone calls. I have asked him to send me a the contract I signed if I signed one and I never got a response from that eigher.Desired Settlement: I was never informed about a contract that I had to sign. Therefore I would appriciate my deposit money back.
