I am rejecting this response because: My wife had gone into office on 1/28/and notified them at we would be leaving at the end of lease, they did not state for her to sign any form or to have me come into office and sign any form I was only notified once I was in office and stated april was to be my last month at the residence, only then did they have me sign a form Also they state they have placed lease agreement renewal on door which they did not [redacted] ***
To avoid inadvertently violating one resident's rights, we follow the terms of the lease agreement. The resident agreed with the terms when they signed the lease agreement. I cannot arbitrarily decide which sections of the legal document I enforce. According to fair housing laws, what I do for one person, I must do for all. If I waive the 60-day written notice for one resident, I must waive it for all. I am unwilling/unable to break the law. *** ***
I would like to address the complaint by *** *** dated 4/6/17. *** *** and *** *** signed a lease agreement on 5/31/which went into effect on 6/1/16. The terms of the lease are from 6/1/to 4/30/17. The lease agreement states on page five (5), Section
Termination/Holding Over:“If this agreement is on a month-to-month basis, at least thirty (30) days’ prior written notice must be given to lessor if lessee intends to vacate the premises. Either party may terminate the Fixed Term Lease on or after the expiration date by at least Sixty (60) days’ prior written notice. If this agreement is a fixed term lease, it shall automatically convert to a month-to-month basis upon the expiration date of the fixed term lease.” The lease agreement is very clear that a written notice is required. We are holding the resident to the terms of the lease
