Dear Mr***,
I am writing with reference to a complaint submitted on 4/15/at 2:30PM which was assigned as ID
number of ***
On 3/22/at 11:38AM customer made contact asking if our firm was able
to take on new business,
specifically help with forming an $-Corporation and Tax Return PreparationOn 3/22/at 2:55PM
our firm responded with a price quote for both the corporation formation and the preparation of a tax
returnClient agreed and stated he would begin gathering the documents essential for the services
Over the course of several days, numerous e-mails were exchanged to gather the information necessary
complete the customers' requestsOn 4/12/2014, upon formation of the corporation and complete of
his tax return, the customer was provided his articles of incorporation and a copy of his return to go
over prior to filing
Unhappy with the tax balance due, customer informed our company he would be paying for the
corporation formation, but not the tax services stating, "That's way to [sic] much" and "when the
numbers don't work I go somewhere else"We again attempted to make it clear that the fee being
charged, as standard practice among tax firms, was for the preparation of a return based on the
information and documents provided, not based on a customer's fondness of a refund or tax balance
due
After numerous attempts to explain why his balance due was higher than anticipated, client became
increasing persistent that he would not pay for servicesWe believe client is misinformed about the
meaning of a "tax quote" and likely doesn't understand that preparation of a return is the service
providedWe believe this complaint is without merit as charging a fee for the preparation of one's tax
return is the industry norm and standard procedure among tax professionals
Yours sincerely,

Review: Asked for a tax quote and was told a price for preparing and filing my taxes. After I received a quote, I told the company no thanks and I would go with another company.[redacted] informed me that I had to pay him for the quote and for his work on my taxes, but I never agreed to that, I agreed to pay the sum after a quote was agreed up and the taxes filed. He claims I owe him for the quote alone. Fraudulent and shady sales approach to make money. Now I am being threatened with a claim that I will be taken to collection if I do pay him for his time, he is not my attorney nor my tax preparer and I am not paying him for a quote.Desired Settlement: There is no payment due and I want to ensure that the threat of collections is removed.
