First let me say we are very sorry for not getting there within the week as we said but the weather was bad and the crew was sick so it was 2 weeks before we got there. We should...
have called to let you know but we don't claim to be perfect and we made a mistake. That being said, we do make yearly inspections. Your job was completed 3/1/13 so that would be 2 inspections. In the summer especially, we are out and working by 5AM and you might not know we were there. We do not re-spray the aluminum coating yearly, it does not say that anywhere in the contract.
We were there in 2 weeks making us 1 week late. Late, yes I agree, but 1 week.
When we got there [redacted] went up on the roof and [redacted] came in to talk to you. Your immediate response was "get off the roof and leave". [redacted] told [redacted] to get off the roof and they left.
We did not get to look at the roof to see what caused the leak or what was done to fix it. We have no way to determine if it was a problem with workmanship, product failure or caused by one of many possible reasons not covered by our warranty, such as "Acts of Nature". (see "General Terms #8). It had been a year since we were last there and any one of these things could have caused the leak.
Also under "General Terms" #8 you will see that others workers doing repairs to our roof will void your warranty. The reason for this is that the material on your roof is chemical free and if someone uses a patching material that has chemicals it will do further damage to roof.
So our problem here is what should we do. We do not know what caused the leak or what was done to fix it and you have told us to stay off the roof. So are we suppose to continue your warranty and just send you money whenever you feel like having work done on the roof for the next 9 years. Or, should we just void the warranty for the reason described in #8.
My suggestion is you be responsible the work you had done and we will continue the warranty left on the roof. In the future we will make contact with you when we do inspections and if for some reason we can not get there when we say we will we will be more diligent about calling.
