Review: 2009 [redacted] submitted for exterior lights issue (safety). Repair shop deliberately charged for diagnosis all day for a problem they should have known they could not fix. When originally called they say no charge to diagnose. Also when we visited the mechanic misrepresented himself as someone else. When we talked to manager a third price range wasgiven. They called my daughter and asked for more time and money to fix but at end of day they could not fix. When we told manager we believe they overcharged she would not support. We took car to dealer in different city and they fixed within 1 hour for the price charged at Fairfax..including parts labor and full car service. We want to support local businesses but firms like Fairfax Auto is not a place I would use again and will deliberately tell people to stay away.Desired Settlement: Full refund

Review: 2003 Subaru brought in for starter replacement. During a "courtesy" 27 point inspection, mechanic stated "BOTH FRONT OUTER CV BOOTS ARE STARTING TO LEAK GREASE", being a mechanic myself I purchased rebuilt axles myself and during my replacement I noticed that in fact the outer cv boots were intact and NOT leaking grease whatsoever. Since I had the axles available I decided to replace them anyway. Both axles had in tact boots and no leaking grease. I think they wanted to rip me off for this repair.Desired Settlement: It would be nice if they reimbursed me for the cost of the two axles ($90 each).
